I've had dogs in my life since I was 12. I'm currently not able to have my own but adore dogs and love the thought of helping someone in the Buckfastleigh and Ashburton area with theirs. I've done some sits for people through the House sitters website (last one was a Cockapoo) and also looked after my brother's Border Collie and my in-law's Lurchers so have experience with different size dogs. Matt was responsive from the start and came round to meet the cats and see the house before doing the drop-ins. He has a calm and gentle nature which is great for any pet to gain confidence. He was reliable and sent feedback while we were away and the cats got to know him and lost their shyness after a while. I highly recommend Matt and will use his service again if the need arises.
We couldn't have asked for a better dog sitter than Matt! He looked after our dog Nellie for a week, and from start to finish, he was absolutely fantastic. Matt was incredibly patient, kind, and understanding with Nellie, taking the time to make sure she felt comfortable, settled, and happy throughout her stay. It was clear that he genuinely cared about her wellbeing and treated her as if she were his own. One thing we especially appreciated was how regularly Matt kept us updated. He frequently sent us photos and messages, which gave us real peace of mind while we were away. Seeing Nellie happy, relaxed, and enjoying herself made all the difference and allowed us to fully enjoy our trip knowing she was in such good hands. We are so grateful for the care, attention, and dedication Matt showed. Nellie had a wonderful time, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and reliable dog sitter. Thank you, Matt!
Matt, and his daughter, house sat for us in May 2025, and looked after our rescue cockapoo, Monty. Matt took great care of Monty and our home. He took the time to meet Monty before the sit and provided updates during the sit. I have no hesitation in recommending Matt to take care of your pets.

Schedule
I work from home most of the week and often go for walks in the morning, lunchtime, or evening after work. I'm here all day so can tend to a dog's needs. I can also easily nip out to walk your dog if needed.

I don't have a garden but have some lovely walks in the area. If they're happy to sit at home on the sofa or a dog bed most of the day then my place is perfect. If I was coming to you during the day that would work too.
