Dogs are my LIFE!
Animals, and more specifically dogs, and have always been a large part of my life. I’ve been responsible for their care and well-being since I got my own dog at 10 (with help of course, but I was proud to call him my own and take on the duties and love that came with it!). This taught me responsibility, empathy, unconditional love, and maturity at a young age. I've been the caretaker for many neighbor's animals over the years (from horses and goats to chickens, cats, and reptiles, and everything in between!), and have loved getting the chance to care for pets beyond just my own. I work from home, so I'm able to provide a lot of time and attention to the dogs throughout the day, as well as provide as much time outside as they'd like. I like to take my pup on a walk or hike every day, and enjoy bringing the dogs I'm sitting when possible. I own an amazing rescue dog, Coco, that I love to death, and she loves to be outside as much as possible. My favorite things in life are taking my dogs on walks, hikes, and adventures, and connecting with them through play and nurture. I own a house in Lakewood with a large backyard, and work from home, so I get to spend a lot of time with my dogs, and would love to open my home to your furry family members as well. At my home they will be loved and cared for as if they were my own. I'd love to earn your trust in caring for your members of your family, as I have done for mine and many others. Matt was great and I’d recommend him to others looking to board. He had a welcoming home, spacious backyard and the communication was great with daily pictures. I’d rebook with Matt again in the future.

Matt went above and beyond making sure Layla was well taken care of and having fun. She had lots of playtime and even got to go on a hike. Great communication and daily pictures. I could tell from the pictures that she felt right at home and was having her own fun little vacation while we were away on ours.

Schedule
I work from home and only leave the house for a few hours at a time when I do leave, so your dog will get plenty of attention and time from me throughout the day to play, go outside, and get some love.

Safety, trust & environment
I have a large, fenced in backyard that dogs can spend as much time as they’d like. I like to play fetch and chase with dogs that are playful, and walk them with my dog when possible. When they’re inside they have access to many dog beds and the couch, as well as treats if allowed. Feeding is always done separately to avoid any potential incidents related to food guarding or food aggression. Always better to be safe than sorry. I will treat your pet like my own, so they will be loved and spoiled over here, just like every dog should be!
Pets
A typical day
I live down the street from the Bear Creek trail/Stone House park, so I try to walk my dogs there at least once a day. Often up Mt Carbon as well. In the hot summer months, the off-leash dog park at Chatfield is a must! I also frequently take them on hikes along the front range, and walks through Bear Creek Lake Park. My dogs spend a few hours playing in the backyard each day. Plenty of squirrels and neighborhood dogs to keep them entertained!
