I’m a full-time graduate student and I work part-time at Petco so I have flexibility in my schedule. I’m available on Mondays and Thursdays anytime, in the morning and early afternoon on Wednesdays, and in the morning and evening on Fridays. I’m free during the weekend, depending on my work schedule.

I am unable to care for pets in my own home but in my client’s home I make sure their pets feel loved, safe, and comfortable. I always follow each pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including things like their feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medications, and any house rules the client has. I take my time getting to know your pet’s personality and comfort level so I know how much attention they enjoy. I pay close attention to any changes in behavior and send regular updates so you know your pet’s happy while you’re away. Also, very importantly, I like to have a good rapport with the owner and maintain a clear line of communication throughout so everyone is informed and comfortable.

It’s important for me to know their health needs, personality, and daily routine. This includes allergies, medications, medical conditions, and how they are around other animals and people. It’s also important for me to know of any house rules like off-limit areas and general preferences. Lastly, I need to have clear instructions and expectations from the owner and emergency contacts.
A typical day
I love to keep pets entertained both mentally and physically. I’ll make sure they get lots of attention, playing, and walking (the dogs), and have bonding time together.

I’m a very observant and caring person, so I’m quick to notice if something is wrong or someone needs extra attention. I genuinely love animals and getting to know their personalities and quirks is my favorite part of caring for them. We had a family dog when I was little and I helped care for him. Last summer, I spent two months dog-sitting and walking a sweet 9-year-old lab and will be going back to dog sit her this summer. As for cats, I’ve had cats in the home for as long as I can remember. I had my own soul kitty from the ages of 6 to 19 and I like to think we grew up together. More recently, I have cat sat three cats for a week and I’m currently cat sitting another lil guy. I’d be super happy to meet your cat or pup!

Matilde was so great, my favorite sitter I've had on Rover so far, and she really made me feel like my cat was taken care of. She went above and beyond to make my cat feel minimal disruptions to my absence, and was so sweet about sending pictures and updating me on my cat's behaviors. Never seen someone so loving and caring about animals. Going above and beyond what we needed treating my animals as her own. Even our shy dog thena who’s terrified of new people came around to her which isn’t an easy task.
Matilde is absolutely wonderful with pets. She took exceptional care of my two cats, Obi and Nerone, giving them not only attention and affection, but also a calm, safe environment while I was away. She is responsible, gentle, and incredibly reliable — the kind of person you immediately trust with your animals. Any pet parent would be lucky to have Matilde as their sitter or dog walker.
