With my experience housesitting, I'm used to caring for pets and a host's home! I'm communicative and love sending updates/pictures of how everyone is doing. I prioritize maintaining a clean space, a set feeding and walking schedule, and spending time with the dogs to give them good company. I'm careful when it comes to walks and stick to the sidewalks, quiet roads, and parks. I am male, so if your dog is aggressive around men, please keep my safety in mind as well.

Please let me know if your dog has any special needs or behaviors to look out for. I am happy to care for old or anxious dogs, or dogs with special diets. If you have multiple dogs, please let me know their feeding routine and if they need to be kept separate during feeding. Any and all details about your dog are welcome (they don't do well in storms, or with loud noises, they find their way to food if you take an eye off your plate for a second). Knowing the commands you use with your dogs would also be very helpful! If your dog has a history of aggression with new Male sitters, I may not be the best fit (spoken from experience)
A typical day
I wake up fairly early in the morning and am happy to take the dogs out for a walk first thing in the morning and get them fed, if they're very high energy I could go on a run with them. If there are any toys that your dog loves I would play with them so they don't get bored, and consistently just keep an eye on them to see if they need anything.

Availability: Open availability - All requests welcome for the summer! I’m a teacher with my summer off and lots of free time. I’m comfortable caring for a wide range of animals and I believe care and comfort is best achieved through maintaining consistency for your pet and providing them with plenty of attention, making sure they get fed on time, have their daily walks, and most importantly got some affection and playtime from me as well. I moved over to Rover from TrustedHouseSitters where my partner and I house/pet sit for others. I have housesit for 9 different hosts for a total of 90 nights, caring for both cats and dogs, and we had a 5-star review from all of our hosts which you can see in my pictures. My experience as a teacher has prepped me for taking care of people’s little ones at the same time and I hope to bring that experience with me when I get to know you and your pet! I enjoy running, so if your have a very active dog that would enjoy going on a run with me, I would be happy to take them with me in the morning or evening.

Mateo was absolutely amazing!! Super communicative, he sent lots of pictures and updates. He went above and beyond what was asked of him. He watched my 80lb pit bull and my friend’s 60lb beagle together. We suggested that he walk my dog and just let the other roam in the backyard for a while, per their routines, cause they may be a lot to walk together. Well he walked them both together all 3 days anyway and got them to behave! And that’s huge, my pit can be very reactive toward certain dogs and big trucks, and the beagle likes to do whatever he wants and ignore toh lol. We would definitely book with him again.
Mateo was lovely and he managed to get my super suspicious cats to come out from under the bed. Highly recommend.
I recently had the pleasure of working with Mateo as my dog sitter, and I can’t recommend him highly enough! Mateo is truly exceptional. From the moment we met, his warmth and natural ease with animals were evident, and my dog instantly took to him, which is rare. Mateo went above and beyond, providing regular updates, including pictures which kept me reassured while I was away. He not only followed my care instructions meticulously but also added his own touches, like spending extra time playing and ensuring my dog got plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. Mateo treated my dog like family, giving him all the love, attention, and care he needed, and it was clear that he genuinely enjoys what he does. His professionalism, kindness, and reliability make him stand out. I returned to a very happy, relaxed pup, and I will definitely be booking Mateo again. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an exceptional dog sitter!
