I’ve been around animals for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I had a dog of my own, and over the years I’ve had the opportunity to care for many dogs and cats belonging to friends, family, and through pet sitting. I currently have two cats of my own, so I understand the responsibility and consistency that comes with caring for pets every day. I’m comfortable caring for pets with different personalities, energy levels, and routines — from playful puppies and energetic dogs to senior pets who may need a little extra patience and attention. I’m happy to handle feeding, walks, playtime, litter box and general clean-up, administering medications when needed, and making sure pets stay comfortable and on their normal routine. What sets me apart is that I genuinely enjoy getting to know each pet as an individual. I pay attention to their body language and behaviour, respect their boundaries, and take the time to build trust rather than expecting them to immediately warm up to me. Whether your pet wants an active play session, a long walk, some cuddles, or simply a calm presence around them, I’m happy to meet them where they are. 🐾

Our dog Marshal had a fantastic time with Mashiya. Mashiya was communicative and thoughtful, sending lots of pictures and updates throughout our pup's visit. She made sure to check in when she wasn't sure of something, and otherwise took wonderful care of Marsh. When our flight back to Toronto was delayed by a day, she was very easy to work with in accommodating an extension and shifting pick up time. We'd highly recommend Mashiya to anyone in Toronto looking for someone to look after their pet.
Was perfect with my pup. They also had another pup with them from another family, all worked out well. Glad they were available over the holidays! They followed all instructions and provided photos. I feel like it should be noted that there is a male partner involved in the pet sitting. This isn’t an issue in any way. But it’s good to know if your fur baby might be afraid of men.
Mashiya took good care of both of our dogs! She was very easy going, when we asked to drop by earlier than planned. Our dogs were instantly comfortable with Mashiya and clearly enjoyed their time with her. We wouldn't hesitate to leave Jed & CJ with Mashiya the next time we need a puppy sitter.
Mashiya is great with cats and dogs. She has been taking care of my cat and has been extremely careful and patient with him. She understands all requirements that you would probably want her to know while leaving your pet with her and my cat thoroughly enjoys her company. She's definitely very reliable and I will be contacting her everytime I'm looking to find a sitter. Thankyou Mashiya for all the love you shower on Theo while I'm away :)

Schedule
Since I work from home full-time, pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I have the flexibility to structure my day around the needs and routine of the pets in my care, whether that means regular walks, feeding schedules, playtime, potty breaks, or simply giving them some company throughout the day.

Safety, trust & environment
For pets staying in my home, I provide a safe, clean, and comfortable environment where they can settle in and feel at home. I also have two friendly, playful cats who are comfortable around other animals, so I’m happy to welcome pets who are comfortable in a multi-pet household. Because I’m home throughout the day, your pet won’t be left alone for long stretches of time. I’m able to give them regular attention, supervision, and interaction while still maintaining their usual routine as much as possible. My goal is to make their stay feel comfortable, calm, and as close to home as I can.

A typical day
I love making sure pets get a good mix of exercise, play, enrichment, and downtime! 🐾 Depending on their personality and energy level, activities can include interactive play, walks, fetch, tug-of-war, puzzle toys, treat-based enrichment, and plenty of one-on-one attention. For cats, I especially enjoy interactive play with wand toys, chasing games, climbing and exploring, and creating little enrichment activities to keep them mentally stimulated. For dogs, I’m happy to go for walks, play fetch or tug, and spend time outdoors when appropriate. I also believe that not every pet wants to be entertained 24/7! Some are happiest with cuddles, quiet companionship, or simply relaxing nearby. I’ll pay attention to each pet’s personality and let them set the pace, so they get the kind of activity and attention they actually enjoy. ❤️
