Availability
I currently work relief in veterinary medicine, so I pick up shifts every few days when I feel I have the emotional capacity. I’d like to shift towards pet sitting and pet walking. I have lots available and very flexible as I do freelance work due to my love to travel.

Safety, trust & environment
When I care for a pet in the home, I follow the parents’ expectations but often go above and beyond to ensure the pet is comfortable and well taken care of. When I walk a pet, I frequently assess any signs of overheating or stress and provide water, a cooling towel, etc. If the pet is stressed, I remove it from that environment and redirect its focus and mindset for the remainder of the walk so they can enjoy it and get exercise. My years of working in vet med have made me very detail-oriented, and I like to keep owners updated when they are out of town. I also collect emergency contacts and the preferred nearest vet that the pet uses. I am ALS certified (Advanced Life Support)
Information Mary T. would like to know about your pet
Let me know if there is any behaviors, medical conditions, pain, etc that I should be aware of. I need next of kin emergency contact information, along with the local preferred vet I can contact in an emergency or the preferred emergency hospital if unable to reach DVM on off days or weekends.
A typical day
We will play, cuddle, exercise (if tolerated). Watch their favorite movies, listen to music. And of course take tons of selfies for parents for when they get back! With my years in vet med, I have learned how to stimulate busy minds especially when they got bored in a hospital kennel they weren’t allowed to leave. I’m the queen of figuring out an animals and what they enjoy doing to stimulate the brain.

Pet care experience
Hello, my name is Maxx, and I also go by Mary. I am an experienced pet sitter as well as an ICU Veterinary Technician. I have been a technician for five years, with three of those years in the ICU. I began my pet-sitting journey after experiencing compassion fatigue over the years. I have a genuine passion for animals and have yet to meet one I couldn’t understand. I became Fear Free certified in 2020. I have experience caring for special needs animals, as well as neonates and seniors who require medications and plenty of tender care and attention. I have a whole zoo of my own at home and love extending that love to other pets. I enjoy taking pets on beautiful walks with great scenery and using positive reinforcement when they behave well. I would love for you to reach out and see the services I offer for pet sitting or walking.

Reviews
Maxx went above and beyond for my dog Sedona and cat Avery. They made sure they had plenty of exercise, playtime, and attention, and I loved getting updates while I was away. It’s always nerve-wracking leaving your pets with someone other than yourself for a while, but I felt completely at ease with Maxx!. My pets adore them, and I’m so grateful for the fantastic care they provided!
