We currently have a fenced in yard for our dogs but I always provide supervision when I let them out. I take my able dogs for longer walks when the weather is fit. I always make sure our dogs have fresh water and food to keep them well nourished and healthy. For my elderly dog, we provide her with medication each morning.

Information Mary P. would like to know about your pet

I have previously cared for sick and elderly dogs but I would love to know beforehand so I can properly care for them. I have a dog with medical issues that prevents her from strenuous exercise that can easily go unnoticed to others. I would love to know if your dog is unable to take longer walks or can't withstand the heat so I can safely care for them.

A typical day

I love to take long walks as long as the weather is suitable and the dog is properly fit. If not, I always love to relax with an elderly or sick dog just loving on them! I love tossing around tennis balls and having fun with different pet toys!

Pet care experience

I have 5 dogs of my own! I have a Pitbull mix, Australian Shepherd, 2 elderly Terrier Mixes, and a Redbone Coonhound! I have previously cared for 3 elderly Poodles who needed special medical care which was administered during my visits. I periodically sit for neighbors and family's pets while they are away. I have grown up with multiple animals my whole life and am always excited to meet new friends big or small!

I can’t recommend Mary enough as a pet caregiver! She’s looked after my two large dogs (a Lab and a mixed breed) on several occasions, and they absolutely adore her. She’s confident, responsible, and clearly experienced with animals of all sizes. She’s also cared for my two rabbits with the same level of attentiveness and even helped out when we were fostering kittens. She’s calm, gentle, and incredibly thoughtful with every animal in the home. It’s such a comfort knowing I can trust her with a full house of pets. Highly recommend!

I'm truly tickled to recommend Mary for pet care through Rover. She cared for my beloved dog, Einstein, up until his passing in October of last year—and I honestly don’t know what I would have done without her. Einstein was beautiful old hound, a stubborn as a mule, and would drool like a faucet. haha. Mary started helping me with Einstein when I began having trouble keeping up with his needs. He was older, had anxiety, and required daily medication and special attention. Mary took it all in stride with a level of maturity and compassion far beyond her years. She always made sure he was fed on time, given his meds properly, and that his anxiety vest was on during fireworks or stormy nights. She never needed to be asked—she just knew what he needed and took it upon herself to provide it. Not to mention wiping off his drool haha. What sets Mary apart is not just her natural way with animals, but her kindness and thoughtfulness toward people as well. As someone who's getting along in years, her help became more than just about Einstein. She was quietly helping me, what started as sharing a cup of tea together became a lovely friendship. She’s dependable, hardworking, and one of the most genuinely caring people I’ve ever met. Mary is a rare kind of person, and any pet would be lucky to have her in their life. I can say from experience that you won’t find better
