Pet care experience

I just want to pet all the dogs

Making new animal friends is the highlight of my day every day. I love dogs and cats. I currently have one of each, and they love each other. My dog is extremely reactive and takes a lot of special precautions to take her on walks so I’m very well versed in handling dogs that need a little more attention paid to their surroundings and that may be a little more challenging with their behavior. She’s a choosy girl but we all have our things!! I love puppies more than anything and honestly would have a puppy at all times if I had the freedom of schedule to do so. My cat is a rescue that has gotten so comfortable with our morning routine that he now demands to go outside by 7 every day. He also loves to be a little spoon and is working on learning how to play in the yard on a harness!

Mary was great and I would 100% book her again to watch Alastor. She sent detailed updates and adorable pictures while I was away which was a huge comfort to see and know he was well looked after and cared for.

Alden is great with Simba! He can be a bit reactive to strangers but he loves her. She was very nice and came over to meet him before starting walks. I’d recommend!

Calendar and availability

Schedule

I’ve just quit my actual job and am taking some time off to figure out what my next move in life is. I’ve saved up some money but am needing to fill my days with small pockets of joy (like meeting new pets or taking them on walks!) I’m just waiting to see where life takes me but figured I might as well help out with some pets because I know how stressful it can be to work a full time job and need to have a plan for your little ones (pets not kids).

Where your pet will stay

Safety, trust & environment

I’ve been a dog walker before and have a lot of experience with helping friends out with pets. I’m uniquely well versed in dogs that may not get along with all other animals. I’m very careful about making sure animals are secured/given what they need before leaving them after a visit (fresh water, crated dog, food, treats, head scritches and a kiss on the forehead (with consent of course)). Mostly I just know how much ease of mind comes from knowing that your pet is well cared for and I take that responsibility very seriously.

A typical day

I love going on lots of walks and even sometimes take my own dog on short runs (about a mile) - I know this can be very helpful for high energy dogs! I love to be outside in my own time and love to take a canine friend exploring with me. I also really enjoy playing hide and seek with treats around the house and am always down for a game of fetch or frisbee!

I’m very understanding of dogs with behavioral issues. If your pup needs a muzzle or needs to avoid crowded areas or can’t be around certain types of animals I am very mindful of where we walk. If they’re older and can only go a certain pace or distance I’m happy to go with them. Or if they’re young and full of energy and need a faster, lengthier walk I’m happy to do that too! I’m really just in it to take the best care of your pets that I can. Everything is easier when I know exactly where all their gear is for their day, though!
