I work full time, but work from home two out of the five days, so I would be able to take your dog on multiple walks during the day, come over and stay with them for a few hours to play, or even house sit them for the day or several days if you’re going away for a trip. If they require special medication I just ask that you leave me their vitamin/mediation schedule and will administer based on your instructions. My family dog loves to cuddle with me in my lap and when she’s not allowed on the furniture, I’ll often sit on the floor with her so that she can snuggle with me. On the days that I work from home, I would be happy to stay at your home with your pets making sure their needs are met.

I love my family pets and will give your pets the same love and affection that I give mine. My animals are allowed to snuggle with me on the couch or on the bed (unless you don’t want them on the furniture/ there are behavioral issues I need to be aware of, I would have them do the same thing). I walk my family dog in the afternoons and play with her throughout the day with dog toys and fetch, but will monitor if it looks like the toy is coming apart and could pose a risk to them. I would follow all instructions left when it comes to house sitting/walks/or day sitting, and would ask for you to share any behavioral issues or triggers with me in advance so I care be aware of them prior to taking your pets out on walks or just in day to day interactions. This allows me to be aware for your pets safety and the safety of any other animals we could come around. If a dog doesn’t seem friendly while we’re on a walk, I would remove your dog from that situation to try and keep them as safe as possible. I will also always reach out to contact you if there are any issues or questions I have about daily activities, medications, etc. When I dog sit at someone’s home, I recognize that I am really there just to look after their pet, so I don’t leave the house for extended periods of time and will actually put on animal shows for the pets to watch, including planet earth, or Disney pet movies. I also like to send updates that I called “nanny cams”, which are photos or videos of your pet playing or just hanging about so that you can have peace of mind that they’re happy and you can also see them while you’re away and receive updates. I will always communicate with you very openly to ensure you have peace of mind while I’m taking care of your pet.

If you’re a dog has any behavioral issues or triggers or has any health problems or allergic reactions I asked that I know that ahead of time so that I can cater their experience while I’m taking care of them. I never want to put your pet in an environment where they won’t be safe and I treat all pets. I watch with the same care. I treat my family pets so I just asked that you let me know of any triggers, social concerns so that I can make sure your pet has a great experience. If your dog has any anxiety for loud noises or certain storms, I also just asked that you inform me of any coping items you keep on hand for them so I can make sure they receive those items and feel as comfortable as possible. If your dog has any aggressive behavior towards food or if there are certain policies, you would like me to enforce that you keep at home example no pets on the furniture, no treats past a certain minimum, or certain behaviors that aren’t acceptable. I just asked that you let me know when advance so I can adhere to those.
A typical day
I always start the day with dogs taking them for a walk so they get out an early in the morning. depending on their age and energy level, I will cater the walk to fit their needs, and if the surrounding area doesn’t provide adequate space for a walk, I am very good about finding public parks and places to make sure the dogs can get lots of energy out and get the exercise they need. This could be walks in public parks if the dog is sociable and prefers it trips to the dog park along with opportunities for the dog to play in the yard with any toys you leave if the house has a yard. I like to spend time with the dogs and make sure their needs are met so I’ll make sure to play with the animals. I’m watching if they’re more senior level and preferred to sleep or you have low energy needs I’ll make sure that they have all of the essentials they need and that they get adequate rest, but also get exercise suitable for their age and not overdo it. I like to put on shows on the TV that the dogs might like including planet Earth documentary or any of the pets favorite movies or shows or shows that you would normally watch in the house to make them feel more comfortable and at ease in their day-to-day routine. as mentioned above I also like to keep the pet owners in the loop of the pets day-to-day activities so I will send a twice a day photo or video update so the owners know how their pets are doing if the owners would like more or less updates. I’m happy to accommodate that

I’ve had dogs and have been taking care of family and friends dogs and cats for over 10 years. My family has had healthy dogs and dogs that have had medical issues over the years, and so I’m knowledgeable in looking after a dog who has undergone surgery, or who requires special care due to paralyzation. I love all animals and friends have relied on me to house sit their dogs while they go away on trips or vacations for multiple days at a time, sometimes with more than one dog at a time, or additional pets as well, so I’m very experienced in addressing each animals needs, while also sending “daily nanny cam” updates to family and friends so they can see their pets during the day and know that they’re happy and doing well.
