Your Pup's Favorite Nanny!

I’m back on Rover by popular demand! I took a break because I was lucky enough to have consistent clients and repeat pups who trusted me with their care since 2022. Over the years, I built amazing relationships with families and their dogs, but some of my furry friends have moved away with their humans, so I’m excited to open my schedule again and meet new pups! I’ve been called a “dog nanny” because I go beyond just walks and feedings. I truly care about making every dog feel safe, loved, and understood. I treat every pup like they’re my own and take the time to learn their personality, routines, and needs. I have experience with training, reinforcing commands, and helping dogs build confidence through patience and positive attention. I have a special place in my heart for rescue and shelter dogs, especially those who may have had difficult past experiences and need extra time, compassion, and understanding to feel comfortable. Having cared for family dogs through all stages of life, including their senior years, I’m comfortable providing medication support, extra patience, and attentive care for older dogs. I also love keeping up with high-energy pups who need playtime, exercise, enrichment, and lots of engagement. Whether your dog is a playful puppy learning new commands, an energetic adventure buddy, a shy rescue learning to trust, or a sweet senior needing extra care, my goal is to provide the same love, patience, and attention I would want for my own pets. I can’t wait to meet your furry family member!

This was my first booking with Rover, and Mary exceeded my expectations! I was looking for someone T'challa could board with at short notice, and her reviews really stood out to me. We met the day before, with her pup Bozz and T'challa got along fine with him. I could tell T'challa really enjoyed himself in the pictures she sent! Def will be working with Mary again.

Nanny Mary (as I like to call her) did an EXCEPTIONAL job. I’d never used a caretaker for my 5-month old puppy and she went to great lengths to make the separation easy. She sent lots of pictures and returned my texts in a timely manner. She did such a wonderful job that my puppy was sad to see her go! I cannot recommend Nanny Mary enough. Almost instantly she created a bond with my puppy and you simply can’t put a price on that sort of skill. She was fantastic and I will continue to use her!! If you’re looking for a caretaker who will treat your puppy as it were their own, look no further! A+ A+ A+!

Schedule

Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I work from home and have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide plenty of attention, companionship, and care throughout the day. I’m also available on weekends and am open to last-minute requests when my schedule allows. As a dog owner, especially of larger breeds, I understand that life can be unpredictable and that sometimes you need someone reliable who can step in and make things easier. I value clear communication and transparency, so I’ll always be upfront about my availability and your pet’s care.

Safety, trust & environment

I provide a calm, comfortable, and pet-friendly environment where dogs can feel safe and at home. I understand that every dog has different needs, so I take time to learn their routines, personalities, and comfort levels. My home is a quiet space where pets can relax, receive plenty of attention, and maintain a sense of normalcy while their owners are away. I provide regular potty breaks, playtime, enrichment, and lots of affection while also respecting when a dog needs quiet time to rest. As a dog owner, I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet. I prioritize safety, communication, and making sure each dog feels comfortable in my care.

Pets

A typical day

A typical day in my care is centered around keeping your pup happy, comfortable, and feeling at home. We’ll start the morning with a potty break and a nice walk around the neighborhood to get some fresh air and stretch our legs. After that, it’s breakfast time, followed by a little dental treat because we all know even the cutest dogs can have some serious “dog breath.” Once we’re settled, I’ll begin my workday from home with some relaxing background music while your pup can lounge, cuddle, and keep me company. I take regular breaks throughout the day for potty breaks, playtime, enrichment, and attention. My dog Mac loves to play, so there will definitely be opportunities for your pup to engage, socialize, and have fun. In the evening, once the weather cools down, we’ll go on a longer walk or adventure. I’m close to the new BeltLine extension, so walks can include exploring the neighborhood, getting some exercise, and enjoying the outdoors. I always come prepared with water, bowls, poop bags, and anything else needed to keep your pup comfortable and safe. After our evening adventure, we’ll wind down with dinner, some relaxation, and plenty of cuddles before settling in for the night. My goal is to make your dog feel like they’re on a fun little vacation while still maintaining the love, routine, and care they’re used to at home.

To make sure I provide the best care possible, I like to know as much as I can about your pet ahead of time. Every dog has their own personality, routine, and needs, so the more I know, the better I can make them feel comfortable. Helpful things to share include: * Whether your pet is potty trained and their usual bathroom schedule * Feeding instructions, favorite foods, treats, and any dietary restrictions or allergies * Any foods, treats, or ingredients they cannot have or that upset their stomach * Medication needs, including dosage and timing * Their daily routine and any commands they know * Their energy level and how much exercise they typically need * How they do around other dogs, people, children, or new environments * Any fears, triggers, anxiety, or past experiences I should be aware of * Their favorite activities, toys, games, and ways they like to be comforted * Their sleeping habits and where they prefer to rest * Emergency contact information and their veterinarian’s information I also appreciate knowing the little things that make your pet unique, whether they love belly rubs, need extra time to warm up, have a favorite walking route, or have a funny habit you want me to know about. My goal is to keep their routine as familiar and comfortable as possible while you’re away.
