Pet care experience

Passionate animal advocate

I have experience working with dogs big and small! Chihuahuas, Pit Bulls, Dobermans, and everything in between, as long as they are under 100lbs I am confident and well-equipped to care for them. I have been working and volunteering in the animal care field for the past 8 years and have experience in several different environments (pet sitting, vet clinics, shelter/rescue, fostering, grooming, and farm tending). I’ve worked with animals of all ages; newborn puppies and kittens, and senior animals receiving end of life care. I am comfortable administering any medication your animal may require. I am familiar and comfortable working with animals of many different care needs (reactivity, anxiety, mobility issues, hearing and sight impairments, paralysis, neurologic conditions, wound/pain management, incontinence, and more). I am educated on animal first aid, CPR, Heimlich maneuver, and seizure protocols. I have taken courses in animal care, safety, and handling. I am willing to go the distance to make animals happy and meet their owners’ expectations. Extra long walks/runs, playtime, enrichment, overnight care, training/obedience practice; you name it! When your pet is in my care, their health, safety, and happiness is my #1 priority.

Mary cared for our two dogs for 2 days and one night. She was dependable and our dogs seemed just as happy with her services as we were. She was knowledgeable about caring for dogs and tailoring her approach to meet our dogs’ individual needs. We’d happily book with her again.

Mary was an excellent caretaker for Star while I was away. Star adores her and when I came home she was a very relaxed and mellow kitty. Mary sent me pics and videos of Star, while I was away, and left a peaceful vibe in her wake. I will definitely hire her again.

Schedule

Caring for your critters is currently my main job! I sometimes pick up part-time shifts at shelters, vet clinics, and art studios, but when I’m doing overnight petsitting my goal is always to be with your pet the majority of the time.

0 to 15 lbs
16 to 40 lbs
41 to 100 lbs
Mary can host up to 3 drop-ins per day
Please let me know ahead of time if your pet has any disabilities, health concerns, behavioral problems, or past medical history that I should account for. Let me know if there is training or commands you’d like me to keep up with when caring for your critter. How is their temperament and activity level? How are they with other animals? Do they have allergies or phobias I should be aware of? Are there specific treats you’d like me to use with your animal? Are they destructive of furniture, toys, or clothing? How do they do on leash? Are they escape artists? Are there any sensitive areas where they do not like to be touched? Do they have a bite history and if so, what were the circumstances? All of this is good information for me to know so I can provide the best care.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
