We are generally home on the days we accept pet sitting to take care of any visiting dogs. We became pet sitters because we enjoy hanging out with dogs.

We have a large backyard surrounded by woods far from roads as well as a home that is dog friendly. We live about 2/3 mile from a quiet beach and it is a perfect walk for most dogs.

We have had puppies, dogs needing medications, elderly dogs and also special needs dogs (adopted feral dogs). We are very careful to protect the visiting dogs.
A typical day
We love to play with our visiting dogs and always like to take them for walks on the beach. If ok with the owner, we can take the dog for boat rides and have dog life jacket to keep them safe.

Pet care experience
Over the past 35 years, we've had three dogs who lived to 13, 14 and 15 years. We are very familiar with older dogs as well as young dogs and enjoy playing with dogs. After the loss of our last dog, Lucy, we decided to take a break from having another dog as we were empty nesters. We love dogs and were encouraged by our grown children to try Rover. We live on a quiet street near the York Harbor Beach and our house is far from the road with woods all around us. I am a regular daily walker and would love to have a dog to walk with me on occasion. I am familiar with the regulations on leashes, beach hours and waste bags.

Mary has cared for our pup in her home several times while we’ve been away on vacation. He’s on a special diet and daily medication and Mary took care of this without any problems. She also sends daily pics which is so reassuring to see him happy. We highly recommend Mary and will continue to work with her. She is a pleasure to work with!
