Athletic , Caring , Energetic!
I have had many different pets -chickens, goats, dogs, horses, fish that I have owned or sponsored. Our family dog died a year ago at age 14 and I’d like to be around dogs again! We have fostered dogs and cats from Milo, SPCA, cared for a rescue dog from Katrina Hurricane, helped with fostering sick cats from Fairfax. We also help neighbors with dog sitting. I even helped a hospitalized elder woman caring for her dog for 3 weeks. I would love to give your furry , family member a home away from home! There is open space, parks, water in walking distance! Hope I can help!

This was our 18-month old pup’s first time staying overnight for boarding, for a 10 day trip, so it was a priority to make sure we found someone who would replicate her routine as much as possible and give her a lot of exercise and attention while we were away. Mary was very responsive from the beginning, quickly setting up a meet and greet. It was clear from our first meeting that Mary was a responsible, caring and experienced pet sitter. Her home is clean and comfortable and well located in a neighborhood that is great for the many dog walks she took our pup on, and also near a beach where our pup could dig in the sand and enjoy being near the water. She was very accommodating to our pups little quirks and special meal prep instructions and sent multiple photos and updates everyday about where they went and what she was doing. I felt so at ease knowing our pup was in good hands and also that she was having special new adventures of her own. As we were getting ready to fly home, our flights were cancelled twice and we had to first shorten our stay by several hours and then extend the stay by a couple hours. It was a mess, but Mary was so accommodating and helpful with navigating the changes through Rover. We were so grateful that she was able to push out our pickup time and be so flexible. We will definitely book with Mary again in the future. She took really good care of our pup and the experience was exactly what we were hoping for! Thank you Mary!

Mary was wonderful with my old somewhat needy dog, taking many often longer walks around the neighborhood, giving me feedback and asking questions about his adjustment issues. I would definitely choose her again to take in my dog.
Mary has taken care of our older Goldendoodle Chessie a few times now. I highly recommend her! She is caring, thoughtful, energetic, communicative and genuinely loves dogs. Your pup is in the best hands with Mary.

Schedule
I do not work at this time. My husband and I are active, hiking, biking, and enjoying the outdoors. Have lots of time to be with your friend!

Safety, trust & environment
We have a fenced in yard. There are no other pets in the home to compete with . I will be always walking the pet on a leash for safety.
A typical day
I live near a dog park which is great for socializing or off leash fun play , if permitted. We have the bay one bock away to walk to, Labrador’s or other dogs may enjoy a swim , and plenty of hills to climb !?your dog will get plenty of exercise and attention ! Then we’ll go back home and rest up!

- Are the friendly with other dogs , do they have separation anxiety, how are they in the leash , are they protective of their food , are they lap dogs or like to be left alone .. I do not allow negative behaviors such as begging for food at the table , jumping on furniture, or barking needlessly. I will reinforce positive behaviors with treats and verbally, touching giving love . Due to home insurance policy I cannot take certain breeds of dogs. I will automatically deny care for those dogs. I do not take dogs that bite people, other dogs or are incontinient of bowel or urine. THERE IS A $300 CLEANING FEE FOR ALL ACCIDENTS. Pick up last day of booking must be by 6 pm
