Pet care experience
All pets are family!
Hello! My name is Mary, and animals have always been a part of my life; I have 25 years of personal experience with a variety of dogs and some cat breeds. 95% of my family’s dogs have been rescues and mixes (5% purebred), so I am extremely familiar with pets who are skittish and have separation anxiety. My first job was as a part-time kennel attendant, and I have even volunteered at an elephant sanctuary before. I have experience with puppies to senior dogs, so I am accustomed to low-energy to high-energy pets and what different pets need. I have house-sat for 7 years. Pets are such a huge part of our families, and I would love to help you take care of them! I am very communicative and will ensure your pets are happy and safe. I am also willing to drive farther to your home for dog/house-sitting overnight (depending on the distance, this will increase the base rate that is charged). References are available upon request. P.S. A fun fact about me: I have heterochromia, which means I have different colored eyes!
Qualifications
Ratings and reviews
Mary was very helpful with my dog Riley this fall. And then when Riley became ill, Mary was great with her then too. Thank you for being a great friend to Riley!

Mary was fantastic with our big boy

Riley loves all the extra attention & her weekly walks with Mary.

This is our third time with Mary. I fully trust her with our pups. They are quite comfortable with her. She gives updates and pictures am and pm. Great communication. She also takes care of the house. Highly recommend
Mary was attentive and super communicative, which we really appreciated. Our anxious pups were totally comfortable and happy throughout. It was the first time we didn't worry when leaving our babies!! Mary is the real deal,

Again, Mary did a wonderful job with our pups. She communicated with us, sent pics and updates. Highly recommend
Calendar and availability
Schedule
I am starting a full-time job in January 2026, so I will be more available in the evenings. I can conduct overnight house-sitting at your home, drop-in visits, and dog walking. My schedule will vary sometimes, but I will always update my calendar on Rover to ensure that there are dates that work for both of us.
Where your pet will stay
Safety, trust & environment
I would prefer to go by what your family’s protocol is for your pet. Whether your dog is relaxing in the living room, their crate, or elsewhere in the home or yard, I personally want to do my best to achieve what is most comfortable for your pet(s) and you. Especially if there is a schedule they are used to, or a flexible day with naps and playtime.
Pets
A typical day
I would love to take your critters for a walk, whether in the neighborhood or your backyard, depending on both of your preferences. (**I strongly prefer to only take one dog at a time for a walk.**) If they are high energy and you would like me to take them on a nature hike, that can be arranged. If we are staying at home, then I would play with them and their toys, or, let them rest, nap, and snuggle. Whatever they and you are most comfortable with!
