I'm self-employed, so have the flexibility to work from wherever you are located. Weekday afternoons, evenings, and weekends are great times for me to take care of your pet.

Safety, trust & environment
I use a gentle approach to introduce myself to new dogs and will pace the walk according to the pup's energy and interest levels (so many smells!). I also have experience crating, feeding, and playing fetch. When entering to care for your pup, I will also treat your home with care.
Information Mary J. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if your dog has any particular needs or preferences that would cause them to need a different kind of walk (slower, less humans about, dog or child sensitivity, etc.). Then I'll be better able to craft a great walk! In addition to actual puppies (age less than one year) I use Puppy Rate for dogs with severe physical limitations, such as extremely limited mobility, tremors, substantial visual impairment and blindness, and incontinence. Please book at this rate if your dog has these or similar conditions.
A typical day
I spent the pandemic mapping Fremont and Phinney Ridge on my own long walks, so I know lots of pretty and lesser-known paths and even a secret art walk I can show your pup. While humans' sense of smell is like discerning a teaspoon of sugar in a cup of coffee, a dog is able to discern that teaspoon in two swimming pools. So I'll give your pup plenty of time to sniff and really enjoy their time outdoors.

Pet care experience
I like helping neighbors, whether with 2 feet or 4. During the early days of the pandemic, I hosted a Sniffspot so neighbors could play with their dogs in my yard. Now I'm on the dog-walking, drop-in, and house-sitting beat. As the former caregiver of our family's anxious German Shepherd, I also have experience with dogs that need a little extra patience and compassion. I enjoy spending time with cats too and had a sweet tabby named Tabitha Twitch when I was growing up. I look forward to meeting your furry friend ;)
Reviews

Mary took amazing care of my dog, is an excellent and thorough communicator, and was extremely attentive to my dogs needs, and behavioral temperament. I absolutely plan to book with her again!

Mary was great with Otis, lovely calm spirit. Happy to have Mary visit with Otis again!

Mary sat Scamp in our home while we took a 9 day road trip. It’s always stressful leaving Scamp behind especially with new people, but Mary made us feel very at ease and secure in knowing all was well back at home. During our meet and greet she made sure she understood all of his needs and quirks. She definitely takes the responsibility of pet care seriously as one should . We came home to a very calm and happy pup- would highly recommend Mary ☺️

Mary helped a couple of newbies understand Rover and work on booking future services. Very helpful and knowledgeable.
