Safety, trust & environment
My yard is fenced and my house is dog-friendly. Being a retired RN, I'm always thinking ahead about safety and comfort. I own a large crate with a comfortable dog bed, if you prefer your dog to be crated when alone. If not, there is no problem with the dog having the run of the house while I'm gone.

Information Mary F. would like to know about your pet
I DO NOT TAKE "DROP-INS" There must be a "meet and greet" between myself, the owner and the dog(s) prior to booking. Large, young dogs are too strong and rambunctious for me. A large senior dog would work though. (example: A young basset would be too strong, but I could handle a senior basset.) I own one large crate, but could care for more than one small dog from the same family if they can be crated together. If sitting at the pet's home, I could handle up to 3. Dogs who are trained to relieve themselves outside is a must! I prefer females but would consider a well-trained male dog. I have a flea allergy, so they must be free of those pests. I would want to know if the dog has any history of aggressive behavior toward humans and/or toward other dogs, as well as feeding, walking and sleeping schedules.
A typical day
I've never met a dog that didn't like her tummy rubbed and her ears and rump scratched, and I'm an expert at all three! There is a park in my neighborhood where we can walk and, if your dog can be off-leash, play fetch with ball or Frisbee. There is land behind my home that can be used for the same purposes. If a leash is necessary, I'm happy to throw the ball in my fenced back yard. Bring her toys and I'll sit on the floor and play with her. Hide and seek is fun, too.

DOGS ARE GOOD PEOPLE!
Pet care experience
I love dogs and they have been part of my family since I was a child. In fact some of my friends laugh and say that I choose my friends based on their dogs. That's not true...mostly. My most recent girl, Katie Basset, passed away a few years ago, after a long and happy life. I do miss canine companionship now, but as a senior citizen I don't want to form a bond that may leave the dog without her/his best friend, so dog sitting is the perfect option! I care for one client's dog, or dogs, at a time and require a "meet and greet" prior to booking to be sure it's a good fit for everyone, as well as to obtain information about the dog's care so that I can make their experience as much like home as possible. I LOVE dogs! And I hope you'll let me love your dog, too.

Reviews

We're so grateful to have found Mary. We had a last minute trip come up and she was absolutely wonderful! We had a meet and greet with her and she came so prepared with a binder and she filled out a whole page of info on Sangi so she would know his routine and likes and dislikes. She collected contact info and vet info so she would be prepared if anything occurred. We so appreciated her desire to make everything as close as it is to our house as possible as it concerns his normal routine. From feeding times to games to play and commands to use with him, she wanted to know it all! She sent pictures every day along with a little note about how he was doing which was such a relief to us as we miss him so much when we're away. It was obvious when we returned that he had been well cared for....he was so relaxed and clearly hydrated and well fed. We absolutely recommend Mary if you're looking for someone to love your fur baby while you're away!

I know my pups loved being at Mary’s this weekend because they are happy and relaxed this morning. I loved her fenced back yard where they could sniff and roam and check out the world with freedom. She sent me pictures and checked in with assurances which was very much appreciated. I will definitely use her again for my next plane trip.

Mary is absolutely the best! Highly recommend. She will always be our first choice.

Ms.Mary is thr best of my baby Malu. I feel so much better with her and Malu loves her very much.
