Pet care experience

Reliable, Attentive, & Quiet Home

I’ve grown up around dogs my entire life - from a Dalmatian and Collie to rescue mutts. And even though I don’t currently have a permanent pup of my own, caring for dogs continues to be a big part of my life through sitting for friends, neighbors, and volunteering with local rescues. What sets me apart is the amount of time, patience, and attention I’m able to give. I work from home, which means your dog isn’t left alone all day and can enjoy frequent potty breaks, companionship, and a calm, consistent routine. I’m comfortable caring for dogs of all ages, including: - Puppies or younger dogs (supporting training and routines—ideally with house training already underway) - Senior dogs, including those who need extra patience, slower walks, or special care - Dogs who require oral medications, which I’ve administered for past pets I’m also comfortable with crate-trained and non–crate-trained dogs, and I don’t expect perfect leash manners. I’m patient and happy to reinforce basic walking habits when needed. Above all, I strive to create a safe, cozy, low-stress environment where dogs feel cared for, understood, and at home, whether that means extra cuddles, calm companionship, or simply respecting their space.

Mary is absolutely wonderful with Cher! She always goes above and beyond to make sure Cher feels comfortable, happy, and cared for. This time, she introduced her to an amazing puzzle toy that Cher absolutely loved—I’m actually going to buy one for her at home now! It means so much knowing Cher is with someone who pays attention to what she enjoys and genuinely cares about making her time there special. I always feel completely at ease leaving Cher with Mary. Highly recommend! 🐾💕

Mary was absolutely amazing with Cher! She truly went above and beyond, and it was so clear how much she genuinely loved and cared for her. 🥹💕 Knowing Cher was with someone who was giving her so much attention, affection, and care made me feel completely at ease while I was away. Mary treated her like she was her own, and Cher was clearly so happy and comfortable with her. I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter and would absolutely trust Mary with Cher again. Highly, highly recommend her! 🐾❤️

This was the first time Stella and Astro stayed overnight… they were with Mary for 3 days. I think they want to go back and stay longer as they had such a good time. These two now expect me to give them multiple belly rubs and lots of attention. I was very pleased with Mary’s care with my pups ( who are now so spoiled) consideration for my concern while away. She is the best.

My pups had an awesome day. I had them stay with Mary for a couple of “day” visits to get used to her and her home. Next time she will be keeping them overnight for several days. Mary is awesome… she takes puppies as well as adult dogs. She was working with my dogs on sit commands. They loved being there. Highly recommend!!

Schedule

Pet care fits very naturally into my routine. Because I work from home, I have the flexibility to prioritize your dog’s needs throughout the day rather than squeezing care into limited windows. Dogs staying with me enjoy: Frequent potty breaks throughout the day Longer walks in the mornings and evenings Plenty of attention, companionship, and downtime in a calm household At night, dogs can sleep in my bedroom, nearby, or in a crate—whatever they’re most comfortable with. I’m happy to follow your dog’s normal routine as closely as possible. I am willing to host up to three dogs at a time, always ensuring that the dynamic is comfortable for everyone. Feeding times and nighttime routines can easily be separated into individual, safe spaces if needed. **If you prefer your dog to be the only pet during their stay, I’m very open to that as long as no other dogs are already booked.

Safety, trust & environment

I live in a quiet townhouse within a gated, dog-friendly community. While I don’t have a fenced yard, there is green space in both front and back for potty breaks and a safe neighborhood for walks. Because of the home layout, dogs 60 lbs and under tend to be the best fit, and dogs that require constant outdoor running may be happier in a different environment. My home is: Calm, quiet, and child-free Well-suited for dogs who enjoy structure, routine, and companionship Designed to prioritize safety, comfort, and supervision Dogs may occasionally be left alone for up to four hours, but this is always discussed with the owner in advance. For everyone’s safety, I ask that dogs be: - Fully vaccinated - On flea/tick prevention - Free from any history of biting or aggression (they don’t need to love other dogs—just safely coexist) I’m happy to send regular photo and video updates, whether that’s daily or more often, whatever helps you feel at ease while you’re away. I also welcome meet & greets so we can make sure it’s a great fit for both you and your pup.

A typical day

I tailor activities to each pet’s age, energy level, and personality so they’re engaged without feeling overwhelmed. Because I work from home, pets get plenty of interaction throughout the day rather than long stretches alone. Fun activities may include: - Daily walks in a safe, dog-friendly neighborhood - Playtime indoors, whether that’s fetch, gentle tug, or interactive toys - Relaxed cuddle time and good scratches for pets who enjoy affection - Quiet downtime, especially for senior dogs or pets who prefer a calmer pace - For puppies, I’m happy to help reinforce basic training and routines that are already in place. - For senior dogs, activities are adjusted to prioritize comfort, mobility, and rest. My goal is to create a stay that feels like a balance of fun, structure, and comfort, so pets feel happy, relaxed, and at home while you’re away.

To help make your pet’s stay as comfortable and stress-free as possible, I love learning as much as I can ahead of time. Helpful information includes: - Your pet’s daily routine (feeding schedule, walks, potty habits) - Any medical needs, medications, allergies, or special care instructions - Their personality and quirks (shy, cuddly, independent, anxious, etc.) - How they do with other dogs, people, and on leash - Sleeping preferences (crate, dog bed, nearby, or in the bedroom) - Any training cues, house rules, or behaviors you’re working on - What helps them feel calm and at home (favorite toys, treats, blankets) For everyone’s safety, dogs should be fully vaccinated, on flea/tick prevention, and have no history of biting or aggression. While dogs don’t need to love other dogs, they should be able to safely coexist, as the neighborhood is very dog-friendly. I truly enjoy tailoring care to each pet’s needs, and the more you can share, the better I can ensure your furry family member feels comfortable, loved, and well cared for during their stay.
