Safety, trust & environment
I believe in caring for an animal in the comfort and familiarity of their own home. I may have availability for away-from-home care in the near future.
Information Mary C. would like to know about your pet
Knowing the general temperament of a pet beforehand is helpful for a good first impression! An enthusiastic greeting is often not the way to gain the trust of an unsure animal.
A typical day
In addition to dog walks, which I do at every visit unless asked otherwise, I can take your pooch on nature trails or do indoor play in inclement weather: heavy rain, extreme cold or heat. You'll get photo and video updates as well as a report on how the visit has gone and what your pet did. There really is no typical day of petsitting! For the comfort of your pet, I emulate their routine as closely as possible while still bringing in new activities and games to keep them stimulated, whether that be catch, playing keep-away, hiding toys under blankets as buried treasure, or letting them chase me around the house with their toys!

Pet care experience
Thank you for visiting my profile! I got my start seven years ago in a professional pet care as an employee in a pet sitting/dog walking company, working with (mostly) dogs and cats of all breeds, temperaments, and ages--from shy greyhounds, to stubborn bulldogs, to deaf and blind pets, to arthritic pets that need a little bit of extra care and caution. After moving to Michigan, I started Rover in 2021 and have looked after animals for my sole income ever since! Animals have been a lifelong love, and I’m thrilled to have a job making them happy. My first priority is putting your pet at ease and ensuring their health. Having their owners away is often a scary time, so I create an experience tailored to each animal, a balance of personal space when they need it and keeping them engaged and having a blast! Each pet is different, and my care reflects that. As Rover is my full-time job, I keep an attitude of strict accountability. I respect each service I perform and am no stranger to cleaning up a mess or administering medication. I understand how detail-oriented pet sitters must be and am ready to give your pet the love and care they very well deserve! I also provide housekeeping services if plants need to be watered or mail taken in. I can rotate lights to make the house appear lived in. I’m also happy to learn about anything specific your pet needs.
Reviews

Mary has been so amazing with our dog!! She communicates wonderfully and treats my dog like her own! We are very happy!

Just great, as always!! My cats enjoy Mary's visits for more than the food service!

Always excellent and reliable. Sensitive to a shy kitty. Much appreciated.

Mary is very professional, flexible and good with our dog Boone. She is able to walk him even though he is a big boy who likes to pull on his leash, which shows she is strong enough to walk big dogs with behavior issues. Very happy with her as our walker and will be using her weekly!
