Pet care experience

I have owned a dog most of my life.

I've always been blessed with wonderful dogs. They bring joy and unconditional love to any home. As side jobs I've worked in kennels and have done grooming. l've owned Dobermans to mutts. They all have their own personalities and qualities. If pet is not currently sleeping in a crate I am unable to accommodate. We had to put our dog to sleep . My husband and I really feel a void without a beloved pet. There is no dog to greets us. I love the outdoors and being active in it. Our home is air conditioned in the summer and toasty warm in winter. We live on a acre lot in a quite and dog friendly neighborhood. Dogs on medication are welcome.

We have let our dog Icy with Mary many times. She is always so happy to see our pup and Icy is happy to see Mary. I have no worries when Icy is with Mary. She is the perfect sitter for us and we are so grateful to have her for our precious dog.

We love Mary! More importantly, our dog Ginger loves Mary and staying at her house. Mary is our go-to sitter, and I can’t even remember how many times she has watched Ginger. It gives me so much peace of mind knowing Ginger is not just being looked after, but genuinely cared for and loved. We really threw Mary a curveball this time—our dog is not fixed, and she went into heat the day before we left. I was beyond nervous about leaving Ginger and putting this added responsibility on Mary. But Mary handled it so well, and I fully trusted her. I didn’t have to bring that worry into our vacation at all. We are so thankful for Mary, and I highly recommend her as a sitter.

Mary and Dana watched our pup again over Thanksgiving, and as always, they were amazing. Wynnie absolutely loves staying with them, and it gives us so much peace of mind knowing she’s treated like part of their family. We never have to worry when she’s with them. Mary kept us updated throughout the stay, and they took such great care of her with plenty of walks, brushing, and snuggles. We’re so grateful to have them and couldn’t ask for better sitters! ☺️

Mary and Dana are absolutely amazing! They have been watching our dog, Wynnie, for quite a while now and truly treat her like family. Wynnie loves staying with them, and it gives us so much peace of mind knowing she is in such loving hands while we’re away. Mary is wonderful about sending us updates, which we really appreciate, and they always go above and beyond with her care—brushing her daily, taking her on plenty of walks, and giving her all the love and attention she needs. We are extremely grateful for the kindness and dedication they show Wynnie and honestly don’t know what we would do without them. Highly, highly recommend!

Safety, trust & environment

Your pet will never be left unattended when outside my home. We live in a very pet friendly neighborhood. For this reason, your dog will always be with me on a regular leash or retractable leash.

A typical day

Lots of walks and interaction with my husband and me. We live near several large schools. There are open spaces and sidewalks surrounding us. We enjoy the outdoors. Where we go would depend on the pet owner's preferences. Asbury Park and Scott Park along with the Peninsula are also options for walking. Lots of love is always a priority. The neighborhood is very pet friendly. However dogs that are shy or weary of strangers will do well too. Many of my neighbors have pets . Some are people dogs and others aren't.

0 to 15 lbs
16 to 40 lbs
Dogs over 1 year old
Spayed and neutered dogs only
No females in heat
Crate-trained dogs only
Takes only one pet owner at a time
Mary can host up to 1 pet per night
The dog would need to be house trained. The ability to walk on a leash. The dog would also need to be free from fleas and parasites. A well cared for dog is desired. Because your dog is new to our home a crate for sleeping is required. This ensures the safety of your dog when they are alone in unfamiliar surroundings. Your dog will not be kept in a crate during the day. I will consider a dog over 40lbs up to 55lbs. However, this all depends on the level of training your dog has received. I have no preference in any breed.
