Information Mary B. would like to know about your pet

The dog would need to be house trained. The ability to walk on a leash. The dog would also need to be free from fleas and parasites. A well cared for dog is desired. Because your dog is new to our home a crate for sleeping is required. This ensures the safety of your dog when they are alone in unfamiliar surroundings. Your dog will not be kept in a crate during the day. I will consider a dog over 40lbs up to 55lbs. However, this all depends on the level of training your dog has received. I have no preference in any breed.

A typical day

Lots of walks and interaction with my husband and me. We live near several large schools. There are open spaces and sidewalks surrounding us. We enjoy the outdoors. Where we go would depend on the pet owner's preferences. Asbury Park and Scott Park along with the Peninsula are also options for walking. Lots of love is always a priority. The neighborhood is very pet friendly. However dogs that are shy or weary of strangers will do well too. Many of my neighbors have pets . Some are people dogs and others aren't.

Mary B.'s Neighborhood

I have owned a dog most of my life.

Pet care experience

I've always been blessed with wonderful dogs. They bring joy and unconditional love to any home. As side jobs I've worked in kennels and have done grooming. l've owned Dobermans to mutts. They all have their own personalities and qualities. If pet is not currently sleeping in a crate I am unable to accommodate. We had to put our dog to sleep . My husband and I really feel a void without a beloved pet. There is no dog to greets us. I love the outdoors and being active in it. Our home is air conditioned in the summer and toasty warm in winter. We live on a acre lot in a quite and dog friendly neighborhood. Dogs on medication are welcome.

We are so incredibly grateful to Mary and her husband, Dana, for taking such wonderful care of our pup over the Fourth of July holiday. Leaving your dog while you’re away is never easy, but they gave us complete peace of mind knowing she was in such loving and capable hands. There was a heat wave during her stay, and we especially appreciated how thoughtful they were about keeping the weather in mind. Our corgi has a thick double coat and overheats easily, so it meant a lot that they adjusted her walks and activities to keep her safe and comfortable. It’s clear they genuinely care about the well-being of the dogs they watch. Wynnie came home happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. It was obvious she had a great time, and we know she’ll be excited to go back the next time! We can’t recommend Mary and Dana highly enough. If you’re looking for kind, attentive, and trustworthy people to care for your dog, look no further. Thank you both for taking such amazing care of Wynnie! ☺️

We have let our dog Icy with Mary many times. She is always so happy to see our pup and Icy is happy to see Mary. I have no worries when Icy is with Mary. She is the perfect sitter for us and we are so grateful to have her for our precious dog.

We love Mary! More importantly, our dog Ginger loves Mary and staying at her house. Mary is our go-to sitter, and I can’t even remember how many times she has watched Ginger. It gives me so much peace of mind knowing Ginger is not just being looked after, but genuinely cared for and loved. We really threw Mary a curveball this time—our dog is not fixed, and she went into heat the day before we left. I was beyond nervous about leaving Ginger and putting this added responsibility on Mary. But Mary handled it so well, and I fully trusted her. I didn’t have to bring that worry into our vacation at all. We are so thankful for Mary, and I highly recommend her as a sitter.
