8 years walking, on leash off leash individual and pack walking. 6 working with canines in a municipal impound and animal shelter An avid student with the Academy for Dog Trainers nearing completion of my program! Fear free Certified, Pet first aid with the red cross! I am deep believer in force free/fear free training and dog handling methods. Experience with reactive dogs and working with tricky medical and behaviour cases that need extra care!

Is the term "dog whisperer" overused here? Maybe, but I don't know how else to explain Marty Burt's innate ability with dogs. Over 30 years and SIX German Shorthaired Pointers, I have benefitted immeasurably from Marty's skills and generosity. He manages diverse packs effectively, he's oblivious to crappy weather — true Newfoundlander that he is, Marty thinks it's always a good day for a dog walk. Marty is also incredibly generous with his insights into dogs' personality traits and tics — he's helped my weirdo dogs (especially the rescues) many times over with sticky behavioural problems. There's no better walker in the business.
Marty has been dogsitting in our home for us for almost four years now. Short stays in the summer, but for 6 weeks every winter. We can leave here and know that both the house and two dogs are in totally capable hands. One of our dogs has anxiety issues, ( was feral) but Marty has earned his trust and River gets more excited to see Marty than he does to see us! He is very conscientious about walking the dogs, more so than we are in bad weather, and makes sure to follow meds and food regimen . I recommend Marty without hesitation.
