Pet care is genuinely woven into my daily life. As a part-time stay-at-home dad in Falls Church, I have a flexible schedule that revolves around routine and responsibility, which suits dogs perfectly. I walk my own dogs for at least an hour every day, rain or shine, so adding a few extra furry companions to my routine is a natural fit rather than an afterthought. While my child is at daycare, I have dedicated time each day to focus entirely on the pets in my care: no rushing, no cutting walks short. After 10 years of dog ownership across three very different breeds (a Greyhound, a terrier, and a Shih Tzu), I've learned to read dog behavior and adapt to each animal's needs and pace. Pet care isn't a side hustle I'm figuring out as I go, it's an extension of how I already live my day.

For dog walks, I treat every dog as an individual. Some dogs want a brisk, purposeful walk; others need time to sniff and explore at their own pace. I follow the dog's lead. I know Falls Church well and plan routes that are safe, enjoyable, and appropriate for the dog's size and energy level. I always carry water for longer walks and keep dogs leashed and under close control at all times. For cat drop-in visits, I keep things calm and low-key. Cats are creatures of habit, so I stick closely to their established routine: feeding, fresh water, litter box, and a quick health check to make sure everything looks normal. If a cat wants affection and playtime I'm happy to provide it; if they'd rather keep their distance, I respect that too. Having lived with a cat myself, I know not to take it personally! I'll always send an update with a photo so you know the visit went smoothly. In a client's home, I treat the space with full respect: no disruptions to the pet's environment, doors and gates secured, and clear communication with the owner if anything seems off.

Pet care experience
Hi, I'm Martin! 🐾 I'm a Falls Church local and lifelong animal lover with over 10 years of dog ownership experience. I've shared my life with three dogs (a Greyhound, a Terrier mix, and a Shih Tzu) plus a cat (and I've domesticated a deer), so I'm comfortable with all kinds of personalities and energy levels. As a stay-at-home dad, I bring the same patience, reliability, and care to your pet that I give my own family. I walk my dogs at least an hour every day and know the streets, parks, and trails of Falls Church like the back of my hand; your dog will be in safe hands and great company. I'm also a certified Project Manager (PMP), which means I take schedules, communication, and accountability seriously. You'll always know where your dog is and how the visit went. Available for dog walks and home visits. A bit of French-Canadian warmth included at no extra charge! 🇨🇦 I'd love to meet your furry family member. Feel free to reach out!
