Pet care experience

Dog sitter, including older dogs

We are experienced dog sitters with a strong track record of providing calm, reliable care, especially for older dogs who need a little extra attention and understanding. We know that ageing dogs often require more than just the basics. Whether it’s managing medication, helping with mobility, or simply giving them space to rest, we’re tuned in to what they need to feel safe and comfortable. Older dogs often communicate in subtle ways, and we’re quick to notice changes in behaviour, appetite, or energy levels. We’re patient, gentle, and always work at their pace—whether that means shorter, slower walks or staying close for reassurance and company. We’re also confident supporting dogs with anxiety, joint issues, or vision and hearing loss. We treat every dog like our own and create a calm, familiar environment where they can relax and feel cared for. Owners trust us to keep their pets safe and content while they’re away, and we take that trust seriously.

This is our second time that Jilly’s gone to her ‘home from home’ and been left in the expert hands of Martin & Justin. We couldn’t be happier that she’s being properly cared for and loved in their beautiful & comfortable home. Planning & communication is effortless & it makes the difficult , but necessary, choice to go somewhere that taking your dog can be problematic easy. This way our dog gets a holiday at the same time as us, look no further ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Our first time using Rover & what a fantastic experience. From the start Martin & Justin put us at our ease. Communication, home visit & organisation were all easy and straightforward. We knew as soon as we met them our girl was going to be in safe hands. She had a brilliant time & the daily updates settled our nerves. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ will definitely use again

5 Stars – Amazing Sitters! I’m so grateful to have found Martin and Justin! They took such great care of my furbaby and truly went above and beyond. I received regular updates and the sweetest photos throughout her stay, which gave me total peace of mind. She looked so happy and relaxed in every picture, and it was clear she was being well-loved and well-looked-after. I would 100% book with them again — highly recommend to anyone looking for trustworthy, caring sitters!

Schedule

My partner and I, Justin, look forward to taking care of your pet. Pet care is a natural part of our daily and weekly routine. We plan the day around the needs of the dogs in our care, whether that’s early morning walks, mealtimes, administering medication, or just being present for company and comfort. We keep a consistent schedule so pets feel settled and secure, and we build in plenty of time for attention, rest, and gentle play. We also make space in my week for home visits, overnight stays, and check-ins, depending on what each dog needs. It’s a responsibility we take seriously and one we genuinely enjoy.

Safety, trust & environment

When caring for pets in my home, we create a calm, safe environment where they can relax and feel at ease. We keep routines consistent, regular feeding times, gentle walks, quiet spaces to rest, and lots of attention. We limit overstimulation, especially for older dogs, and keep the home clean, comfortable, and hazard-free. When caring for pets in your own home, we respect your space and routines, making sure everything stays familiar and low-stress. We follow feeding, medication, and exercise instructions closely and give regular updates so owners feel reassured. Whether we’re visiting during the day or they’re staying overnight, the dog’s wellbeing and comfort always come first.

A typical day

With the pets we care for, fun is always tailored to their age, energy, and personality. For older dogs, that might mean gentle strolls, slow-paced sniffing walks, or relaxed time outdoors. We also keep them mentally engaged with low-key games, treat puzzles, or simply calm companionship and affection. It’s about keeping them happy, stimulated, and comfortable in a way that suits them best.
