Pet care experience

Flexible wfh dog lover!

I grew up with dogs and previously had one of my own, so caring for them feels very natural to me. I genuinely love animals, and when a dog is in my care, their comfort, safety, and happiness are my top priority. Because I work from home with a flexible schedule, I can be present throughout the day and keep routines consistent, whether that means meals, potty breaks, playtime, walks, or medications given at the same time each day. I know how important consistency is for dogs, especially when they are staying somewhere new, and I do my best to make them feel secure, comfortable, and well cared for. I can’t currently have a dog of my own full-time because my work sometimes requires travel, which is part of why pet sitting means so much to me. I treat every dog in my care with the same attention, affection, and responsibility I would give my own.

Marquette was the absolute best! I needed help taking care of my dog last minute and Marquette asked all the right questions before booking to make sure she understood my dogs needs and best way to take care. During the stay, she sent multiple pictures and videos (including slomo shots) and provided updates from neighborhood walks and her observations of Rumi as she explored new environments. All the updates helped me feel at ease. Will definitely be rebooking with her. I highly recommend booking Marquette!

It’s obvious that Marquette grew up around dogs and adores them. They are drawn to her for snuggles, good scratches and fun. She’s great at playing with excitable, smaller dogs and lovable big lap dogs. Our 80-pound boy is happiest snoring away with his head in her lap, while our smaller dog walks up to her and leans in for the best scratches. Marquette meets dogs on their terms. She is responsible and will carefully follow instructions to keep your best friend happy until you return!

Schedule

I work from home and have a flexible schedule, so pet care fits very easily into my day. I can be home throughout the day for company, feeding, bathroom breaks, and check-ins rather than leaving pets alone for long stretches.

Safety, trust & environment

Your pet’s comfort and safety would be my priority. I live in an apartment, but I have two fenced-in patio areas for safe outdoor time, and I can also provide supervised walks and activity during the day. I’m careful about following each pet owner’s routine and instructions so their dog feels as comfortable and settled as possible. I’m also happy to send updates and photos while your pet is with me. I know it can feel nerve-wracking to trust someone else with your pet, so I carry pet-care insurance through Pet Sitters Associates for added peace of mind. My coverage applies to the services I offer, including sitting, walks, drop-ins, and boarding at my apartment, and includes expanded coverage for client pets plus additional property/bond coverage. My priority is always careful, attentive care, but having proper insurance in place is one more way I try to make the experience feel safe, professional, and reassuring for pet parents.

A typical day

A typical day will vary depending on the activity level and usual routine of the pet but I will do my best to keep your pet happy and engaged through play, walks or calm cuddle time!

Cats

16 to 40 lbs
41 to 100 lbs
Dogs over 1 year old
Spayed and neutered dogs only
No females in heat
Takes only 1 client at a time
Marquette can host up to 2 pets per night
My insurance coverage is one part of providing responsible care, but it works best when I have accurate information from owners. I ask for current vaccination information, emergency/vet contacts, and honest details about temperament, medical needs, anxiety, reactivity, or anything that may affect safe handling. This helps me make sure each pet is cared for appropriately and only placed in situations that are safe for them.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
