Please let me know if your pet has special needs or any quirky requirements. I want to replicate the high level of care you give them, in the way you do it, so I can minimize stress to your dog in your absence. I'm detail oriented and good at following even the most detailed directions. I'm also good at reading animal behavior, so you can trust if I'm on a walk with your pet I can respond appropriately to stresses or changes in their behavior. Having had so many dogs in the past with problematic backgrounds, safety is a #1 priority in my book. I'm extremely cautious when entering/exiting a home to make sure all pets are accounted for.

A typical day
A tired dog is a happy dog. Stimulating their brains and getting exercise is key. Throwing a ball, playing hide and seek, or smelling all the new smells during a walk is always a treat.

Pet care experience
I've owned animals for as long as I can remember. Peacocks, donkey, a full size pig that slept in the house and used a doggy door, goat, a chicken (before chickens were cool), cats, parrots and lots of dogs...just to name a few. :) I started rescuing abused pit bulls around 30 years ago. At any one time, we'd have 10 in our home. This meant crating and rotating all day, as some of the animals were so terrified from the abuse they'd received in the past, they didn't like other dogs. Whilst an exhausting experience at times, a very rewarding one as well. Taking in animals that were malnourished, beat, and/or left to die & turning them into couch loving, treat eating cuddle bugs was worth it 100%. For three years I worked at a K9 Conditioning and Rehab center. Everything from underwater treadmills, swimming, walking on sand and standing on different surfaces helped perform stabilization exercises for safe strengthening. I no longer bring in abused animals and rehabilitate them, nor perform PT on dogs...but still want to care for and love on dogs. This is why I'd love to walk or pet sit your family member. I'm very experienced in administering medication and don't shy away from the not so pretty side of animal care (picking up poop or dealing with messes). I'd love to develop long term relationships with clients that allow me to assist them in some way on a weekly basis, but also am flexible to care for your animals for those much needed weekend getaways we all need. I'm happy to stop by and provide everything they need, including one on one cuddle time and ball throwing so they don't get lonely whilst you're away.

Marla, was Great! She dropped in every day to take care of our boys. They had a good time with her and the daily pictures were reassuring.
