I work from home so someone will always be with your dog. So your dog will never be "holding it". No crating (unless that is part of their routine).

We have a fenced backyard in case your dog wants to roam for extended periods. We do our best to stick to their normal routine. Being in a new environment is stressful enough!

Information Mark M. would like to know about your pet
Knowledge of a dog's routine is key. You don't want to throw them a curve ball and change their routine, as they are already overwhelmed in the new sitter's home environment. So keeping them on their morning potty breaks, feeding schedule and walk times help to minimize any initial stress and anxiety the dog may have. While we don't have any particular breed preferences in particular, we used to only sit small dogs. However, since our Dachshund passed away last year we are now opening up to mid size stays as well. Will need to do a meet-n-greet to see how personalities are.
A typical day
We only have 1 slot open per sitting. That gives more time to play with YOUR dog, snuggle with YOUR dog, and go on fun tail wagging' walks with YOUR dog! How can other sitters that watch 3, 4, 5 dogs still give the loving attention to YOUR dog? Here's where we'll take our walks: Strolling along Sunset Dunes to Golden Gate Park is definitely on the list of daily activities. Or if your dog loves the social scene, Pine Lake Park off Sloat Avenue is another place we frequent. Depending on the weather, we have also ventured to Alamo Square, Crissy Field, Lake Merced and sometimes down the Peninsula. We try to change things up and not go to the same places during the stay. Its great to give your dog a sense of adventure! Your dog's sleeping arrangement: No dogs on furniture. We can accommodate bringing their beds into our room with us if they are used to sleeping with you.

Pet care experience
ALOOOOOOOHA! We welcome your furry one into our home and for the one-on-one attention he/she deserves! Located in Monterey Heights, we have a nice back yard, are a block away from our neighborhood park. Expect your dog to go on adventures around this beautiful city of ours. Destinations like Lake Merced, Pine Lake Park (with their dog park space), Sunset Dunes/Ocean Beach, Mountain Lake and also checking out the homies at Upper Douglas dog park. Depending on the weather, I try to mix things up and give your dog a fun stay here. Don't expect any pics of your dog laying around bored all..day..long! Our meet-n-greets will be held at our neighborhood park. It is a neutral space where your dog won't feel intimidated. Plus it is a nice spot where we can discuss safely in an open grassy area. Why I love dog sitting I have been a dog lover all my life. Now our daughter is growing up the same. Yay! Dog people rule! My Grandmother had a Dachshund and when we were growing up, we had one puppy from her litter. Later in high school, after our first Dachshund passed away, we were heartbroken but reluctantly got another one to continue our love for Doxies! I love to take dogs to places they might have not been before, running and sniffing, making every day a new adventure. You can tell when a dog is excited for something new and it brings a smile to my face. Sometimes dogs like to just chill out, and we can be the perfect homebody living it up. About my yard Our backyard is fenced, with concrete slab surrounded by greenery. If your dog isn't into socializing with other dogs, he/she can roam our back space freely. My experience administering medication We're fine giving the "pill-medicine-in-the-piece-of-meat" deal, or the liquid meds on the food as well. However, if any shots or that type of medicine is needed, we would prefer to take the dog to a vet and have a professional administer the medication that way. I am semi-retired so I'll be with your pet the ENTIRE time. Also, since we only take 1 dog per stay, YOUR dog will be the only one getting belly rubs, playing fetch with their toys, and going on walks. Inside we have an open floor plan to give your dog the room to walk about. No confined spaces or being locked to one room! Outside we have a fenced yard where the dogs have ample space to run wild.
Reviews

Gigi had many fun activities and lots of walks. She was well loved by the whole family!

Mark was amazing. He would constantly send us lots of updates, pictures during walks and showed lots of love and care for our dog. When we picked up our dog, you could tell how much they enjoyed their stay with him. We’ll definitely ask him to take care of our dog in the future.

Thank you Mark for the good care you gave to Ruby. She enjoyed all the walks and play. And all the patience with her finicky eating habits.

Mark was amazing. He was able to accommodate our last-minute request to watch our pup for a few nights. Communication was excellent from the meet and greet all the way through to pickup. He sent took our pup out every day to new parks and sent us daily photos. Thanks again Mark!
