We are here for YOUR dog!

Pet care experience

**EXTENDED ALOHA! We welcome all returning customers the sitting price of their last visit. Please contact me for a custom quote. Mahalo!** ALOOOOOOOHA! We welcome your little one into our home and with the one-on-one attention he/she deserves! We're a family of dog lovers big and small, but our Dachshund, Tobi, prefers to run and play with other dogs her size. Small doggies unite! Located in Monterey Heights, we have a nice back yard, are a block away from our neighborhood park. Expect your dog to go on adventures around this beautiful city of ours. Closeby is Lake Merced, Pine Lake Park (with their dog park space) and Great Highway/Ocean Beach. Depending on the weather, I try to mix things up and give your dog a fun stay here. Dog lovers, we are members of the San Francisco Dachshund Meetup group. I grew up with Dachshunds (this the 3rd Dachshund I've cared for) and we now have one of our own. Our Dachshund Tobi, is a shy girl, but can't wait to be your doggie's personal concierge. Our meet-n-greets will be held socially distanced at our neighborhood park. It is a neutral space with your dog and our dog, Tobi, won't feel intimidated. Plus it is a nice spot where we can discuss safely in an open grassy area. Why I love dog sitting I have been a dog lover all my life. Now our daughter is growing up the same. Yay! Dog people rule! My Grandmother had a Dachshund and when we were growing up, we had one puppy from her litter. Later in high school, after our first Dachshund passed away, we were heartbroken but reluctantly got another one to continue our love for Doxies! Now raising our family, our daughter is growing up with a Dachshund as well. I guess we can't get enough of these lovable wiener dogs. About my yard Our backyard is fenced, with concrete slab surrounded by greenery. We can play ball or our Dachshund loves to go digging too. My experience administering medication We're fine giving the "pill-medicine-in-the-piece-of-meat" deal, or the liquid meds on the food as well. However, if any shots or that type of medicine is needed, we would prefer to take the dog to a vet and have a professional administer the medication that way. I work from home (even prior to the pandemic) so I'll be with your pet the entire time. I need break as well so getting your dog the additional attention is not a problem! Inside we have an open floor plan to give your dog the room to walk about. No confined spaces or being locked to one room! Outside we have a fenced yard where the dogs have ample space to run wild.

Information Mark M. would like to know about your pet

Knowledge of a dog's routine is key. You don't want to throw them a curve ball and change their routine, as they are already overwhelmed in the new sitter's home environment. So keeping them on their morning potty breaks, feeding schedule and walk times help to minimize any initial stress and anxiety the dog may have. While we don't have any particular breed preferences in particular, we used to only sit small dogs. However, we occasionally open up to mid size stays as well. Will need to do a meet-n-greet to see how personalities are. *IMPORTANT: Since Tobi is our resident dog, we only accept fixed dogs. This helps with any unwanted behavior from both dogs.

A typical day

We only have 1 slot open per sitting. That gives more time to play with YOUR dog, snuggle with YOUR dog, and go on fun tail wagging' walks with YOUR dog! How can other sitters that watch 3, 4, 5 dogs still give the loving attention to YOUR dog? Here's where we'll take our walks: Strolling along Great Highway to Golden Gate Park is definitely on the list of daily activities. Or if your dog loves the social scene, Pine Lake Park off Sloat Avenue is another place we frequent. Depending on the weather, we have also ventured to Alamo Square, Crissy Field, Lake Merced and sometimes down the Peninsula. We try to change things up and not go to the same places each day. Its great to give your dog a sense of adventure! Your dog's sleeping arrangement: Unfortunately, we don't allow dogs on the bed as our resident dog, Tobi, will soon start as well. Being a Dachshund we want to minimize future back issues for her. Other than that, wherever your dog is used to sleeping, that's where he/she will sleep. As I mentioned, we would like to minimize any change in routine as much as possible. Our Dachshund, Tobi, sleeps in her own bed. We have plenty of blankets and pillows for your dog to lounge in as well!
