Safety, trust & environment

Due to my home already housing two dogs and a cat I do not offer the service of housing pets within my home. I make it a priority to being able to provide only the best case possible to your pets and therefore will always request a meet and greet with both owners and pets for all services, this will be a check to see how they greet at the door (for both my safety and their own), but also to ensure that all parties, especially the animals are comfortable and happy with with me and that I feel I can provide the necessary level of care the animal(s) require. This also lets me ask you the owners for more details regarding your pet and the dos/don'ts of the household. If a walking service has been selected then I would request a meet and greet as well as an introductory walk to ensure the necessary and appropriate gear is being used as well as an insight into the dogs walking style/behaviours.

Information Mark H. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know about any medications, or disabilities. It would also be good to know about any behavioural traits that I should be aware of (though happy to discuss this on meeting) ahead of the initial meeting (door dashing/door guarding behaviours).

A typical day

I aim to provide a breed specific fulfilment for activities when looking after your dog. Activities will range from daily walks/hikes (if they're up to it) to scent work, hide and seek, tug toys, recall training (secure gardens or locations only), general day-to-day obedience training, endurance training (this would probably be done in a private hire field unless you have your own setup already) and fetch. I will not ever do any bite work/training as this is very specialised work and should only be attempted by certified trainers.

Animal Lover and tailored pet care

Pet care experience

I work from home within the financial services sector, but that just pays the bills and I much prefer to be outdoors, or with animals, my house currently holds a 4 year old Rottie x Akita, a 1.5 yesr old Dalmatian, an 8 year old cat and a soon to be 6 year old Leopard Tortoise. I have experience with cats for almost a decade now. I have experience looking after dogs of all sizes, breeds and certain behavioural issues (Leash reactivity, food possessiveness, dog reactivity). I have owned both my dogs from puppies (and my cat from kitten) and can look after and continue their training whilst in my care. I aim to provide a tailored, friendly service to all that I can help, whether that is looking after your canine/feline family members whilst on holiday, a pop in service for play/toilet breaks, or a nice walk to stretch their legs whilst you're working/ no longer able to for any reason. Due to my company providing a flexible working schedule for me I can fit work in/ take work with me (where needed as I work from home) so I can tailor my services to what you need. I've always been an animal lover and been around pets most of my life, since owning my own though I've grown to appreciate the love you provide to your own and aim to provide that level of care to any animal I look after in my service, Please note that if I am walking your dog they will remain on lead at all times under my care, regardless of their usual situation (unless they're taken to a full fenced private hire field) For house sitting services your home is treated with the upmost care and respect and will be kept to the state I enter it in. The only time they will be left on their own is when errands need to be run that they would be unsuitable to join me on, or if it's an evening where I am due to look after my daughter whilst my partner works (in which case they will only ever be left on their own for a maximum of 2 hours and this will all be discussed in detail with you to approve). If there is anything you wish to know about myself or my services that you cannot find on my page, please feel free to ask, notifications are turned on and I always aim to reply within the hour to any messages I receive.

Fabulous as always I know my dogs can be a bit of a handful as they’re a bit noisy initially But Mark takes it in his stride and follows all the requests I make to the letter Lovely sitter my animals love him :)

This was a repeat booking as Mark had looked after our cat Midna earlier in the year. Midna was well looked after which I knew she would be. She is not a sociable cat but she appeared to listen out for Mark and check him out when he used to arrive to feed her . I would recommend Mark looking after your pets .

Mark has just looked after my cat Midna for a week . Midna is not the friendliest of cats but he made an effort to interact with her every day if she was about . He did more than I expected him to do such as wash up her dirty dish from the day before , take photos of her when he could and update me on a daily basis that he had been to look after her. Mark is already booked in to look after her again in 6 weeks time and I know I will be able to relax knowing that she will be well looked after. I would definitely recommend him .
