Availability
We are retired so we have a very flexible schedule! PLEASE NOTE: Sometimes our schedule shows we are not available for a specific day only because we have a conflict for part of that day. You can always reach out to us to see if our schedule has flexibility to serve your pet care needs. We can provide constant, uninterrupted care for pets that need a constant companion because of a health concern or extreme anxiety. Otherwise, the only time we would leave a pet on its own would be to run an errand and the pet parent would always know about these in advance.

Information Mark & Cathy P. would like to know about your pet
We like to keep your pets on their normal schedule because that makes them much more comfortable. Please tell us what their normal day looks like. When do they wake up, eat, snooze, exercise, potty, and go to bed. Also please share the following: - Veterinarian information. - Any special diet, medications, supplements, special toy or music/TV they like. - If you have a local emergency contact, share their contact information, just in case I can’t immediately reach you. - Tell me about any health concerns, physical limitations or injuries. - Normal mood and behavior patterns so I can watch for signs of separation anxiety. The more information we have the better the visit your pet will have.
A typical day
For each service we offer we meet with you and your pet(s) face-to-face to make sure we are the right fit for you and your pet(s) needs. During this meeting we work with you to understand your pet’s current routine, habits, and activity level. Our goal is to keep them on their current schedule of care. We answer any questions you may have and together we create a care plan that will be used to structure the visits. For all services you can be assured that we will arrive on time, will follow the care plan we establish, will provide you with multiple photos and a written Visit Activity and Wellness report, will respect your privacy, and most importantly will take great care of your pets! DOGGY DAY CARE: What You Can Expect From us --- - Your dog will enjoy the full-time companionship of a friendly human while away from home. Your pups will never be unsupervised. - A clean, air conditioned and safe home to enjoy. - Access to fresh water at all times. - A fenced, landscaped, dog safe backyard in a quiet neighborhood. - We only sit one pet family at a time so your dog will not be exposed to other pets. - Couch and bed sleeping allowed. - No cages (unless this is a pet parent request). - Morning walk to get some wiggles out (with pet parent permission and weather permitting). - Feeding and treat schedules customized for your pups. - On-Time medication and/or supplement administration as needed. - Photos and updates throughout the day. - Water play (wading pool and splash pad) if your dog enjoys the water. I avoid busy streets, dogs off leash, and other hazards like construction zones, hot pavement, etc... - Immediate phone communication with you if any problems come up with your pet. A TYPICAL 30- MINUTE WALK BOOKING looks like this: Mark arrives and greets your pet, checks for any problems or inside accidents and clean them up. Put on their harness, and we go out and walk for at least 30 minutes. I lock your home when we depart. When we get back home; I refill all water bowls with fresh water, top off food bowls as needed, hand out treats to good dogs, give medications if scheduled, and write up a Visit Activity and Wellness report while your pet calms after the walk. Just before I depart, I make sure your pet is safe and your home is locked & alarms armed. I send you the Visit Activity and Wellness report to you as the last thing I do before I drive away from your home. All of this means that I will be with your pet for longer than scheduled 30 minutes. ON THE WALK: I let your dog(s) set the pace. I will not pull or drag them along. I allow them time to sniff and explore along the route. I try to avoid other dogs and children for safety reasons, so sometimes we will change directions, cross streets, etc. to avoid potential problems. I always clean up after your dog(s) if they poop on the walk. I never let dogs in my care off lead. I am flexible and open to designing an individual walk program that meets your needs and fits the capabilities of your pet. If this sounds like what you are looking for, book me today and let’s get started. DROP-IN VISITS: What You Can Expect From Us – (Mark usually does all Drop In Visits) - No Drop-In Visit is the same so, we will meet with you and your pet(s) in advance of the visit to learn what care you need provided and answer any questions you have. - Mark can drop-in at your Home, Vacation Rental, or Hotel room. - On-time arrival, and no snooping through your things. - You will receive photos of your pet(s), a written Visit Activity and Wellness report of how your pet(s) are doing. - If we go on a walk, you will get a detailed digital map of the path we took. - I will provide whatever kind of care your pet(s) need, Including: Feeding, Watering, Walking, Playing Inside and/or Outside, Brushing, Giving Medications, Replacing Bedding, Emptying the Litter Box; Watering the House Plants, Bringing in Packages and Mail, or anything else needed while you are away. If this sounds like what you are looking for book us today and let’s get started! HOUSE SITTING – IN YOUR HOME/HOTEL: What You can expect from me – (Mark is the only one who does house sitting unless you are an existing and trusted client) Because the needs of every client are different, we meet with you and your pet(s) face to face to answer your questions and develop a care plan tailored for your pet’s specific needs. I provide services that range from 24X7 uninterrupted care that includes overnight stays at your home to a modified house siting option that meets your pet needs. I am retired so I can provide day and night time coverage. Let me know what kind of care you are looking for and lets develop a care plan that fits your needs. Throughout the day you will receive photos of your pets and written Visit Activity and Wellness reports. If we go for a walk, you will get a digital map of the route that we took. If you invite me to stay in your home, vacation rental, or hotel room, you can trust that I will arrive on-time and will stick to the schedule we establish. I always work alone and will focus on the care of your pet. I won’t be hosting wild parties or snooping through your things while you are gone - it will just be me, minding my own business while caring for your pets. Cameras don't bother me but I do expect you to disclose them to me so that I am aware of there presence. If this sounds like something you have been looking for, book us today and let’s get things set up for your pet’s coverage needs. We Provide Boarding, House/Hotel Sitting, Dog Walking, Drop-In Visits, and Doggie Day Care services to families of Pawsome Pets! We only care for one pet family at a time. We donate a portion of our fees to the American Kennel Club Canine Health Foundation AND the West Valley City Animal Shelter. What Our Clients Are Saying: “We love staying at Mark and Cathy’s place! No cages and a nice, fenced yard to explore. We get treetos and the best part is we never have to share with other doggos, well that and all the pets and snuggles they give us. We give the place a high 5 paw review!” ~ Sam (the cute Beagel) and Elliott (a super smart bully mix) “I always feel safe when Mr. Mark takes me on a walko. He always puts me in a full chesto harness so I can’t do a Houdini and do me an escape. I like the harness because it never makes me do a choke while we are on the trail. He lets me lead the way and if I feel like doin me a readin of the P-mail at the fire plug, or doin a fun upsidie downo rollin in the grass he lets me. We always get at least a half hour on the trail so I have time to do me a pee or a poo iffin I have too. I always get a treeto when we gets back home and he fills up my water dish before he says his goodbyes. Mark is the pawfect doggo walker!” ~ Thunder (Brittany Spaniel) ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ Mark is retired business & medical executive and Cathy is retired from the medical field. We know how hard it can be to leave your family members when traveling for work or a fun get-away. We have traveled a lot, and it was tough to finding someone we truly trusted to care for our dogs. We know what a big leap of faith it is to turn over the keys of your home and place the care of your pets to a stranger. If you entrust us with your family member(s), you can be assured that they will be well cared for while you are away. We follow through on your care instructions; your pets and your home will be protected and respected. We have extensive experience caring for Dogs, Cats, Birds (including parrots), Fresh & Saltwater Fish, Turtles, Tortoises, Rodents, Rabbits, Reptiles, Poultry, and even cared for a worm farm once. We also have extensive experience caring for pets recovering from injury/surgery, medication administration, and pets with severe medical conditions like epilepsy. We have completed the American Red Cross Cat & Dog First Aid and CPR training class in September 2022. For more than 25+ years we have always lived with 2 dogs (or more) in our home until recently when we lost our four legged members of our family. We believe that the pet-human relationship only works when you respect each other. We do not believe that aggression, neglect, or physical violence is an appropriate way to care for any animal. We offer various types of services for your pets. For each service We work with you to understand your pet’s needs, activity level and schedule and will match their same routine. We will set up a care plan with you designed to make your pet the most comfortable while you are away. For all of our services you can be assured that we will arrive on time, will follow the care plan, will provide you with multiple photos and written status reports, will respect your privacy, and most importantly will take great care of your pets! We are very direct and honest so if you have more questions about us, please ask. We don't want your business if we are not the best match for your pet's needs. We hope we can earn your business, but encourage you to take your time to find the person who makes YOU the most comfortable caring for your pets! Thank you for considering us.
Reviews

Mark is an amazing pet sitter — you truly could not ask for better. He gives tons of updates on what’s going on with my dogs- feeding, medications, taking them to use the bathroom, etc. He also sends tons of photos. When Mark is watching my dogs, I never have to worry about them because I know they’re in such great hands. I can’t say enough good things about Mark.

Mark and Cathy was the best fit for my heeler. Took the extra time and care to make my dog comfortable while I was gone for the weekend. Highly recommend

Mark & Cathy are wonderful, responsible, & caring. Knowing that our dogs are well cared for allowed us to enjoy our vacation. They sent so many wonderful pictures & sent multiple updates throughout the day. Thank you both. Hope you folks will always be available to care for Bailey & Dally!

We have had bad experiences with people on Rover but Mark and Cathy were amazing. It was nice to be able to leave our dogs and really feel like they were being cared for. We aren’t from the area but when we travel up here next we will for sure try to get on their schedule.
