Safety, trust & environment
Pets that are being cared for while their owners are away will receive all requested care (food, water, potty breaks, walks, playtime, cuddles, cleaned litterboxes, etc.) along with any medications that need to be administered. I’m happy to clean bowls as needed, bring in packages/mail, water plants, and do small house chores while you’re away. For safety, I always check any areas of the house that the animal has access to to make sure that they have not gotten into anything dangerous, been sick, or had any accidents. I always clean up any messes the animal has made so you won’t have to come home to a dirty house.
Information Marissa H. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if your pet has any special needs, medical conditions, or physical limitations, and/or has "stranger danger", reactivity (ie. barky-lungey behavior), or aggression to any people or dogs before their visit.
A typical day
"Smelly walks" are my go-to for most dogs. I encourage dogs to sniff (and mark for those so inclined) their environment and take it all in. Not only do they get physical exercise, they get mental stimulation, too. For dogs who need a little bit more, playing fetch or chase in the backyard is one of my favorite past times. On days where the weather is not so favorable, playing hide and seek is a fun way to pass the time. Searching for hidden treats is a great way to get the dogs to use their brain and tire themselves out.

Pet care experience
I’ve moved! I’m now offering services in and around Slinger, WI :) With 13 years of experience, you can trust that your pet will be in safe hands. Hello I'm Marissa! I share my life with 5 wonderful dogs, and many, many fish. I am a dog behavior consultant, dog fitness trainer, dock diving instructor, dog hydrotherapist, an AKC Farm Dog certified judge, a UKC Shed Hunting judge, dog sport competitor, and overall dog lover. In my early days working in the industry, I worked in a veterinary office where I learned animal first aid among other skills, and worked as a doggy day care attendant, pet sitter, dog walker, and kennel tech. I have learned a wide knowledge of dog behavior and biology through these jobs and my degree from UK, which helps assist me in providing the best care possible. For our cat lovers, I have lived with cats since the day I was born. While I've shifted my focus onto dogs, I still have a strong knowledge of cat care and can provide your furry friend with a wonderful, safe time while you're away. I am proficient in giving medications in all forms, injections included, and am first-aid trained (not for CPR). I have an affinity for running with dogs, so please ask about providing extra exercise for your pup. I work part-time, so there is lots of availability to take care of your furry friend. Weekend availability varies, so please ask about open dates. As of right now, I can only offer pet sitting at your home. Depending on the type of visit and dog, dogs will get exercise and potty time, their water bowl refreshed and topped off, and a treat, along with any extra care needed (ie. feeding, medication, cuddle time, etc.). Cats will receive their water bowl topped off, their litter box cleaned, fed, cuddles and scratches, and playtime for kitties that like to play. The home will always be checked over for any accidents and to make sure your pet hasn't gotten into anything they shouldn't have.
Reviews

The best pet sitter we could ask for! Marissa was professional, communicative, and treated our fur baby like their own. We never worried for a second while out of town. Highly recommend!

Marissa did a great job stopping in every day that I was away to take care of my girls. I will use her services again and wholeheartedly recommend her to others.

Phineas is always so happy to see Marissa. She is always so patient and good with him.
