Safety, trust & environment

I will communicate with you in advance to learn about your unique pet's needs. Whether this involves playing with special toys, letting dogs in and out of the crate, feeding, you name it-I am happy to do whatever your pet needs to feel safe, loved, and cared for! I will communicate with you during and/or after the visit or walk to provide picture(s) and let you know how everything went! As a former teacher, I know how important communication is to help reassure pet parents that their fur babies are in good hands! When it comes to entering other people's homes, I am always respectful of your space and will always leave it just as I found it, if not better. You can count on me to provide quality care!

Information Marissa G. would like to know about your pet

Let me know if you dog has any special needs, allergies, medications, or other health concerns that I should be aware of. This also includes unique behaviors or habits that your dog may have.

A typical day

I love to provide both physical and mental stimulation for your dogs! This of course includes walks! If your dog knows any commands, I will try to incorporate them into our walk to provide some extra stimulation and positively reinforce their listening! I also love to play tug, fetch, and "find it" games to activate their sniffing and tire them out! If you are comfortable providing mental enrichment toys such as a frozen kong, puzzle toy, or snuffle mat, I am happy to offer food in this manner for your furry friend! This is an excellent way to keep their minds active! Not to mention, it is very soothing for dogs.

Loving Care for Your Pawsome Pal!

Pet care experience

I have taken care of pets my entire life! Growing up, my family had 3 dogs (German Shepherd, Lab Mix, and Bichon Frise), along with cats, rabbits, chickens, a hamster, you name it! I love animals like they are MY OWN and pride myself in being a patient, attentive, and loving pet caregiver. Currently, I have a 2 year old rescue dog named Maverick who is my entire world!!! We love to go on plenty of adventures including walks, hikes, and swims! I have experience with dog training and obedience work as well. I am a former elementary school teacher so I have A LOT of patience. :) Additionally, I am very active and know how important daily exercise and stimulation are for all animals. I am excited to meet your sweet furry friends and provide the love, affection, and care that they need!

We have used Marissa several times to care for our dog while we were away for a few days, and she is amazing! She treats him like her own, is very responsive, and keeps us informed on how he is doing after all her visits. She took great care of him and went out of her way to get him special food when he got sick while we were away. He is always excited to see her when she comes and we will be using her again!

Another wonderful visit with Marissa! She took great care of my dog, Goose, and communicated well through updates and pictures. Goose has a new medication since the last time she watched him, and she communicated about when it was administered. Finally, she went above and beyond to make Goose comfortable when there were fireworks and loud noises in the neighborhood. Appreciated her!
