Safety, trust & environment
My home consists of myself, my pup Hazel, my roommate Cassie, and her pup Zoella. Hazel is just happy to tag along. She would love a new friend and playmate if that’s what your pup wants. But she is also content to just hang out or from afar if your pup needs their space. Zoella loves a new friend to play with and is happy to play bitey face or chew on toys together. Some of my favorite tools to utilize are long leads, mealtime enrichment, and classical music. I love to follow your prescriptive routines to help your dog adjust while you’re away in any capacity. Your dog will typically be kept separate from our dogs the first time I watch them to ensure they can get to know and trust me, and I can learn to read your dog’s needs and cues. All dogs will be introduced individually, from afar to begin, and can always be kept separate for their stay from either or both dogs if needed.

Please send me any preferences you have for your dog! Do they have any notable behaviors with certain people, environments, or other animals? Are there any current or otherwise prevalent health concerns, allergies, etc?
A typical day
I love to take dogs on walks, work with manners on lead, and let them explore on a long lead. I have plenty of toys or chews as well as food enrichment puzzles.

Life of an experienced foster
Pet care experience
Hi, I’m Marissa! I’m a life long dog lover and a dog foster for rescue dogs the last 5 years. I’ve cared for dogs of all ages, many breeds, with differing medical needs. I’ve had pup Hazel for 2 years now; she loves everyone but is content to hang out from afar with any new friends who need their space. (Please note, for any first time stays the dogs would typically be kept separate in my home and not walked together, with the ability to always keep them separate depending on your preferences). I work very close to home allowing for lunch breaks filled with walks and play or more frequent check ins as needed. I can’t wait to meet your dog! (If my calendar shows as unavailable, please feel free to send me a message just in case!)
Reviews

Marissa took great care of Minnie over the 4th of July Holiday weekend. It was record hot, she made sure to special care in walking her at non stress times. Minnie was a bit nervous and a little unhappy at the start, but Marissa’s patience made her feel right at home. Thank you!

Marissa took care of my 18 month old rescue pup for a week while I was on vacation and did a great job. She shared a bunch of photos and my dog seemed to have a blast playing with hers. It's our second time staying with Marissa and I would definitely book her again.

Marissa was great, and particularly helpful in coordinating drop-off and pickup. I got good updates from her as well and my dog seemed happy.

Marissa was great and took good care of Trudy. She was good about sending us pictures. We booked her again for April.
