Availability
As a second-year veterinary student, I have classes for about 3–6 hours a day and live right next to campus. That means I can easily pop home between classes for walks, check-ins, or anything else they may need! My schedule is flexible, and I’m available most evenings, weekends, and holidays. Pet care is truly part of my daily routine—it’s how I unwind and stay grounded.

Safety, trust & environment
I take pet safety and comfort very seriously. I have two friendly, well-socialized cats at home, so I can host pets who are comfortable around cats. I’m trained in safe animal handling, medication administration, and monitoring for stress or illness. Whether your pet stays with me or I come to you, I create a calm, low-stress environment and tailor care to their individual needs. I live in a very spacious apartment so although I do not personally have a backyard, my complex has plenty of space outside to play and run around!

Vet student—expert, loving care
Pet care experience
Hi there! My name is Marisa, and I’m a second-year veterinary student with years of experience caring for animals of all kinds. Before vet school, I worked as a veterinary technician in shelter medicine, emergency, and general practice, so I’m extremely comfortable handling pets of all sizes, ages, and temperaments. Whether your pet needs extra playtime, daily meds, or just someone to hang out with and love on them, I’ll make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. I live right next to the vet school and share my home with two very outgoing friendly cats, so I can host pets who are comfortable around cats. My schedule varies with classes (usually 3–6 hours a day), but since I’m so close to campus, I can easily leave between classes to check in, walk, feed, or spend time with your pet. I also love photography, so you can count on plenty of amazing photos and frequent updates while you’re away! Additional info on my experience: - Former veterinary technician in shelter, ER, and GP settings - Skilled at giving medications (oral, topical, injectable) - Able to monitor medical conditions, recognize early signs of illness or stress, and respond appropriately - Experienced with senior, special needs, and behaviorally sensitive animals - Confident with dogs, cats, and small animals I recently lost my soul dog, and I miss that connection every day. Caring for other people’s pets brings me comfort and joy, and I’d be honored to love your pet like my own. I know how hard it can be to leave your beloved companion behind, and how much peace it brings when you know they’re in good hands. My goal is to give you that peace of mind and make sure your pet feels safe, loved, and cared for every moment you’re away.

Marissa is an amazing sitter. She took wonderful care of our house and our 2 pets. I would highly recommend her.

Marisa did a fantastic job taking care of our pets and house. She was polite and friendly, and also sent picutures and updates over the weekend. We would definitely want her to come back again in the future! ?
