Friend of all FURBABIES!

Pet care experience

Spots for reoccurring walks or drop in visits are starting to fill up. I do have some flexibility for the occasional walk or drop in visit. For the Thanksgiving holiday my schedule is starting to book up. I have lived with and loved animals all of my life. I've had cats, dogs, rats, mice, and a few grumpy but lovable hamsters. My joy of animals led me to attended college where I graduated with a degree B.S. in Small Animal Science. I spent my early career as vet tech but when I began a family of my own, I stepped away to focus on life as a stay-at-home mom. We had two beautiful shelties during those years who helped me bridge my time away from the workplace. After they crossed the Rainbow Bridge, we were blessed to find our lovable Janessa, a Belgian Malinois-Terrier mix. Janessa and I went through AFT dog training together and that experience reawakened my calling to work with animals outside of my own home. I came to Rover to follow that passion and serve my community by lending my skills, my background and most importantly a loving and nurturing hand to your furry companions. I have a fairly flexible schedule as a stay-at-home mom with older kids. I am organized in my appointments and personal life and bring dependability and reliability in all my commitments both here and elsewhere. I'm a proactive communicator who will always bring professionalism to my clients. I recognize that visiting your pets extends beyond just playing with them or letting them out. They are a precious part of your family, and I will always treat them as I would my own. Furthermore, I know during that care/visit, I will be at your property or home and that is a second level of trust. I am committed to honoring that trust, proactively communicating and being consistent and transparent in my service.

Marisa does an outstanding job of taking care of my furbabies. She keeps me up to date on how they are doing and sends pictures so I can see for myself. She is a great caregiver.

Great communication and cares for my dog like I had hoped for when booking through Rover. I love the updates and pictures she sends me from every visit and will continue to re book with her while I am in the area. Highly recommend!

Marisa was great to work with. Our vacation was so much more relaxed knowing that Marisa was stopping in for Willow. The updates and photos were super. I absolutely would use Rover and Marisa again.

Safety, trust & environment

For drop in visits I will make sure each animal is cared for by giving them outside time for playing/going potty, feeding, giving fresh water and plenty of attention. I'll even straighten up if it looks like something seems out of place like a couch pillow got dropped on the floor. On my walks I let the dogs enjoy their outside time. We will stop to smell, encourage their good behavior with praise, and to go potty. On walks I bring a bookbag with cool water, travel water bowl, first aid and extra supplies. When doing house sitting, I am able to stay overnight. For any type of visit I will be communicative with my client sending updates and photos of your pets and the fun things we get to do. Additionally, I am familiar with different types of collars and harnesses used for dogs.

Information Marisa K. would like to know about your pet

Some questions I have: 1. Any allergies? 2. Health conditions? 3. Reactive to certain animals, people, sounds and other environments? 4. Training methods? 5. Commands used? 6. On any medications? 7. Specific diet? 8. Type of collar and leash? 9. Doesn't like certain areas touched? (For example, the ears) 10. Will your pet try to escape indoors or outdoors? 11. Any special needs?

A typical day

A favorite place of mine to walk dogs is the D&L trail. I take my dog Janessa there often. Delps park is a dog park I enjoy visiting. This park is clean, has a walking path and is not overly crowded. Besides walks, play time with toys that interest the dog as well as cuddles. Every animal is different, and I like to learn about them and customize my interactions to what they would require. I'd be willing to help continue any training to reinforce any commands the dog knows or is learning. If there is a fenced in yard it would give the opportunity for some off leash play and practicing commands with outside distraction.

Availability

I provide pet services as a full-time job. My weekdays and weekends are flexible. This allows me to take care of your animals and give them the time each one will need. My flexibility will allow me to work with your needs. Specifically, for overnight stays the hours I provide are 6PM and go to 7AM the next day. If more visits during the day is needed, I do charge extra for that time.
