I just finished up my PhD and am taking some much needed rest time, therefore my schedule is very open. I live in Lakeview and am around most weekends as well.

I absolutely adore pets and strive to make them feel as comfortable as possible. I understand it can be weird for the animals to have a stranger come visit them while their parent is away and I keep that in mind when interacting with them. I am patient and kind and wait for the pet to come to me for attention or love!

I would like to know any special requirements or requests ahead of time. Sometimes knowing their quirks can make the visit more enjoyable for both the animal and myself. I am more than happy to accommodate any special requests the owner might have!
A typical day
When watching cats, I typically spend the first 10-15 minutes simply hanging out with the pet to ensure they are comfortable having me in their home. This includes as many pets as they want and play time. I will then proceed with any requests from the owner (food, liter, water, etc). There is usually time remaining which means more play time or pets! When walking dogs, I let the dog decide the pace and the amount of times we stop. I allow the dogs plenty of sniffing time and don’t rush them. It is their walk, I am simply there to ensure their safety.
