For such a well reviewed sitter, I expected much better standards, and had a terrible experience. From the get go there were some orange flags on the booking. We requested a certain drop off time on the booking request, but after accepting it, he told us that the time wouldn't work for him and we would need to drop our dog off earlier. He also gave us an address different than the location on his account. Both somewhat concerning flags but we gave him the benefit of the doubt that he might have just moved. At this point, we had already set the pick up time for our dog the next day at 9 pm. Fast forward to 8:00 the next day, he had not sent us any updates of any kind, but we reached out to ask if we could pick up. No response. We continue texting him but even come 9 pm he still does not respond. We drive to the drop off location but he's not there, and he did not provide an apartment number so we couldn't directly look for him. We had to escalate to the Rover customer service and trust and safety team to try to locate him, but even they had no success in contacting him. Only after another hour of stressing does he text back asking when we're going to pick our dog up! We finally do manage to finally get our dog back, but after returning home we notice he only fed one of our provided two meals. Who knows if he even got walked. I'm not sure if he was just having a bad day, or was down because of the superbowl outcome, or if this is a stolen account, but this is no excuse for such an experience.
