Hi there! I’m Marina. I have been consistently walking dogs, doing drop-in visits, and house sitting for dogs and cats on Rover for over a year now — from puppies to seniors, and from slow, gentle walks to longer runs/jogs with energetic pups. I’ve always had a love for animals, growing up with cats and guinea pigs, and now sharing my life with two lovely cats. Growing up, I also spent a lot of time around friends' dogs. My background in healthcare (EMT licensed; worked as a Medical Assistant, nursing assistant, personal care assistant, and in childcare) has equipped me to handle emergencies calmly and appropriately. I’m also comfortable with providing preventative care for animals, whether it’s ear cleaning, medication, or nail clipping. Throughout the years, I’ve introduced cats and dogs to one another and have a history of rescuing abandoned/lost animals and rehoming them or reconnecting them with their owners — from a parakeet found in the streets of Boston to a Chihuahua left in his carrier on a busy D.C. sidewalk. These experiences reflect my deep love and respect for all living beings, and I bring this passion into my pet care. I’m patient and compassionate, and I would be excited to try different strategies to find the best solution for you and your pet. My cats and I enjoy going on adventures — thanks to their leashes and their backpacks — and safely exploring the outdoors together. When I’m caring for dogs, I work to make our walks exciting and variable. I like to find ways to engage in play both in the house and out, and like to run or jog with dogs when applicable. I am excited to bring care, intention, and enthusiasm to looking after your pets!

When I am occupying a space that is not my own, whether it’s someone else's home or a campsite, I aim to live by the mantra to "leave things better than you found them." My goal is to have a positive impact on the space, interacting with it with respect, intention, and communication. To ensure this, I like to go over general boundaries ahead of time—whether it’s understanding which rooms or areas should be avoided, where to keep pets away from, or other specific guidelines that help me navigate the space appropriately. In my own home, I have two indoor cats (who go on leashed walks) though I grew up with and cared for many outdoor cats. I’m conscious of and respect the different ways that families choose to create a safe and comfortable environment for animals. I apply the same level of care and attention to detail in a client’s home as I would in my own. My goal is that your pets feel happy and their needs are fulfilled while respecting the boundaries of your space.

Marina was awesome! She took great car of our cat and dog as well as our home while we were away. She went on daily walks with our dog and gave lots of attention to both pets! She also sent us photos multiple times everyday with updates on them and they seemed to really enjoy her being with them. We will definitely be booking with her from now on!
Marina was an excellent choice for a week of daily drop-ins with our senior cat. She took care of feeding and tidying up after him, and the super-cute photos she included with the daily update cards showed us how much he enjoyed social time with her as well! Marina also brought in the occasional package that arrived, a big help to the non-felines here. I fully recommend Marina and would book with her again.
Highly recommend Marina! She did great with our lab. She offered to come for a meet and greet, asked all the right questions and updated us with pictures from the walk. Captain was happy to see her the next day for a second walk!
Marina is such a great pet caregiver! She is my roommate and already has two of the most adorable cats. She cares for them so well and I know she’ll do the same for your furry babies!
Marina has always been excellent with animals and would make for a wonderful pet sitter. She has owned many pets throughout her life and is very respectful of their wants and needs.

Schedule
I work a remote, part-time job where I can create my own hours. I also typically walk 1-2 dogs on weekdays. My schedule is flexible and I am open to caring for your pets during various times/days in the week.
