Highly energetic dog person
I grew up with two dogs, who were both an integral part of my childhood. I helped care for both dogs from puppyhood to old age. Although both have since passed on, I still love animals, particularly dogs. I am excited about the opportunity to care for your pets. I'm a former collegiate athlete and I am still very active as a long distance runner. I will walk (or run!) your dogs for as long and as often as they desire. However, I'm also patient and excited to work with older or less active dogs. I'm a great communicator and I'm always willing to chat with you about what your pet(s) need from me!

Safety, trust & environment
Due to my small apartment, I exclusively care for pets in their own homes. I find that this helps them feel more comfortable around a new person and gives them stability, even when their family isn't around!

Marikate takes excellent care of our beasties! We have a large dog and two oddball, but sweet cats. Marikate makes sure that our dog gets two walks a day and often a long run. I never worry about our kitty who is allergic to almost everything when Marikate cares for her! She’s so conscientious and follows the long list of “rules.” When we arrive home our critters are calm and content! And, as evidence of Marikate’s thoughtfulness, the house is always tidy. She makes it so much easier to leave home!

We recently had the pleasure of having Marikate watch our two dogs, and she was absolutely great! She did a fantastic job caring for them, taking them on regular walks, and kept us updated with excellent communication throughout. Our one dog is prone to anxiety, and she gave him the special attention he needed to feel comfortable and happy. We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter and highly recommend her services!

Schedule
I work 9-5 during the week, but I am available at all other hours of the day. I am free most weekends as well and am happy to watch your pups during your weekend getaway!
