Safety, trust & environment

I’m clean, respectful, and bring everything I need to make your home my temporary home base. In return, I expect a reasonably tidy space to sleep, eat, and relax in, and do not consent to indoor camera systems in those spaces, especially while I'm home. Viewing a pet crate/bed area, in your personal areas I am not accessing, or outside is all good! I do my best to stick to your pet’s routines around my work hours. Once we’re settled into the care rhythm, I typically send one big end-of-day update( unless of course there’s anything urgent or worth checking in about sooner). Photos may come throughout the day, but more often get sent in a batch as I’m winding down with your pet and the app in hand.

Information Mariella R. would like to know about your pet

Tell me all the good stuff: their favorite toys, weird little habits, how they like their scritches. But also, give me the scoop on any quirks to be prepared for: Toy/food/resource guarding? Certain areas to avoid handling?(paws, back? Are they prone to snap easily, ex if I need to inspect a paw etc?) Car sickness? Sled pulling champion, but without the sled and just off my wrist? An aspiring Door Dasher(escape artist)? An undying hatred for bikes, boards, squirrels, or other general walk encounters? Dog reactivity? I’m all ears! The more I know, the smoother (and safer!) our time together will be.

A typical day

For longer stays, your pup might be roped into weekend hikes, creekside strolls, or mellow lake hangs. I love spending time outdoors, especially when the weather’s cozy and my step count isn't complete! Otherwise, expect solid walks/jogs, cuddle sessions, and whatever kind of play they love best, be it fetch, tug, training, heavy itch scratching, or just good ol sunbathing! (love me some lizard time!)

Pet care experience

Hello! I house-sit for pets who are used to a workweek routine: I pack my bags and treat your place like home while coming and going from my normal life. I stick to within ~30 minutes commute of Woodland (think West Sac to Vacaville), and prefer more emergent booking inquiries, within a few weeks max, as my workload and commitments can vary widely and I want to be sure I have time aplenty to care for your pet. New parents: my workweek can be extra busy during the March-May time. I only accept sits with dogs with dog doors, shorter commute radius, and lower energy needs to be safe, in case I end up in longer 10+hour workdays. I've cared for everything from tiny spiders to big ol’ anatolians. First best friend was a childhood feisty dachshund, worked at a pet hotel, and volunteer at the local shelter (If you're even slightly considering a playmate for your pet, I know a few that'd love to meet ya🥰!). I’m big on training and enrichment — my girl and I did some agility, had 20+ fun tricks, obedience classes, and even started on talking buttons until her age caught up to her. I'm now back on Rover to help pay down her last vet bills but mostly to get cozy home pet snuggle time again while my lifestyle doesn't suit new companionship. I can give oral meds and sub-q fluids for pets who are used to it, and happy to learn the style that works for your pet, although critically timed needs would be upon discussion as I cannot offer around the clock service, at this rate 😉 Boarding is very limited — usually just past pups or with a very thorough meet-and-greet first. I live in a small space on fun open land, but unfenced, so only strongly trusted dogs get to hang here. Let’s connect if you think we’d be a good match, I'm excited to meet more fur kids!

Mariella took wonderful care of my cat, Rio. She kept up with his feeding schedule perfectly and sent daily photos. I came home to a happy cat and a spotless house. Highly recommend Mariella for reliable, loving care!

Mariella did an amazing job Ella and Mia had a blast hanging out with them. They sent lots of photos, updates and took them on multiple walks a day. We will definitely be reaching out to Mariella again to hanging out with our fur children while we are out of town.
