During the week I work from home and Matthew is home at 3pm everyday, so there will always be someone home at any point in time. We are both home over the weekends and we love to take guest dogs to dog parks (Woodland and Magnuson are our favorites) and even on hikes. We spend a lot of time outdoors so, if we're not at home we are usually doing some sort of dog-friendly activity.

Dog skills
Safety, trust & environment
We typically go for dog-walks 2 times each day and also have a partially fenced yard to do frequent supervised potty breaks if needed. While at home, we love taking breaks to play and interact with guest dogs. We do allow dogs on furniture, but we have also cared for dogs who live in more strict homes and always adhere to any behavioral rules the owners' may have. We also have a medium-sized crate for any dogs who are crate-trained.

Information Mariel & Matthew V. would like to know about your pet
Does your pup enjoy going to the dog park or for hikes? How do they do when being approached by other dogs, humans, or children when on the leash? How much exercise do they enjoy daily, how much exercise is too much? When they eat do they need to be separated from other dogs, are they a grazer or do they eat all at once? Do they have any food allergies or stomach sensitivities? Are they on any medications or supplements? Where do they like to sleep? Is there anything you are working on with them training-wise or behaviorally? Do they have any habits we should be aware of; chewing, getting into garbages?
A typical day
We'll start the morning with a walk or a sniff around the yard depending on the pup's energy level. Then it's time for breakfast. I'll usually take a mid-morning and post-lunch break to play/interact with the pup(s) or go for another walk. When Matt arrives home at 3 he loves to take a long afternoon stroll. Then it's time for dinner and if your dog is a snuggler we will happily oblige before one last potty-break before bedtime.

We Love All Dogs Like Our Own
Pet care experience
I, Mariel, had my dog Walter since he was two years old and trained him on my own. We were lucky enough to have Walter in our lives until he was 16, in his advanced senior years he required daily oral and eye medications, so we are comfortable caring for senior dogs. My partner, Matthew, has been around dogs his entire life. Growing up his mother was a professional dog-trainer and they always had 3-5 family pets at a time, he always helped to take care of them all. Together we have dog-sat for many friends' dogs and between the two of us we have experience caring for multiple dogs at once, of all ages, sizes, and temperaments.
Reviews

These two are definitely dog people. My critter had an amazing stay and was extremely well cared for. Excellent communication throughout and they sent me photos every day. Book them without hesitation.

Mariel and Matt are so wonderful! They are so caring and always make us feel so great leaving our dog in their care. We feel so good knowing he’s well cared for. Thanks Mariel and Matt!

Sage loves being with Mariel and Matthew and this time wasn't any different. They take such good care of her and I always come back to a happy and content pup.

Our dog Wilson loves staying with Mariel and Matt! They kept him busy with lots of walks, swimming, and plenty of snuggles. We loved seeing the picture updates from them while we were away. Wilson’s currently snoozing on the couch, tuckered out from his super fun weekend!
