Availability
When receiving a booking request, I will communicate in detail about my availability to ensure it meets your expectations and your pet's needs. I’m a transparent and thorough communicator, and I’ll let you know of any prior commitments that I may have during a house stay request. I also do real-time check-ins/updates, so you’ll always know how your pet is doing, what we’re up to, and when I am present and when I leave your home. My day-to-day work/school is remote and flexible, so I can choose my own hours and follow your pet’s daily routine (waking/sleeping/feeding, etc.), and give them lots of both active, attentive quality time (undivided attention playing with them, walking them, petting them, brushing them, caring for them, etc.) and hangout time (for example, sitting on the couch together). Whenever possible, I can take short-notice and same-day requests. I have evening classes most weekdays for ~2-4 hours, depending on the day, and occasional performances on weekends, but typically no other scheduling commitments from May to September annually. From September through May (9 months, Fall to Summer), I am unavailable Saturdays and some Fridays (mostly First Fridays) due to our performance schedule. For a healthy pet that can be safely left alone, I still always spend as much time with them as possible and only leave the house for meals (and/or can bring food) and/or class, an occasional errand, depending on how long the stay is. I arrive well-prepared to minimize the need to exit the home. I will discuss my availability and your pet's needs in detail before accepting a booking to be sure it is mutually a good fit. For any booking, your pet’s care and safety is my primary responsibility and I take my duty of supervision and care with the utmost seriousness (don’t worry, I’m also fun!). I also care deeply for their emotional well being, so while I have to be realistic about my own schedule and needs (my classes, the need to eat, etc.), I don’t leave them unattended or lonely for any longer than I have to.

Safety, trust & environment
In your home or on a dog-walk, I will give your pet(s) my full attention to their safety, well-being, and happiness. I am consistent and committed to staying up to date on the latest behavioral and scientific/medical knowledge. I am thorough and I carefully follow directions and will ask for clarification if needed to ensure I am prepared for your pet's specific care. I am experienced and knowledgeable, and you can trust me in your home and with your precious pets. If they have a special need that I am not qualified for handling or have experience with, I will be honest and not overstate my skills (I want your pet to be in great hands with the best fit possible as much as you do). I am gentle, calm, and kind, and can also be silly/fun/playful/energetic, or very quiet; I try to adapt to your pet’s personality, comfort, and needs. I've worked with a range of pets, from quiet seniors and calm cats to rambunctious puppies, giant-breeds, and anxious pets. And while I love them all, I most especially gravitate towards cats, seniors, and differently-abled pets. I unfortunately cannot care for your pets in my own home (such as daycare or pet sitting in my home) because I have four of my own at home with special needs and routines. (Note that when I’m away on a house stay, they are in great hands with my husband, so while I miss them dearly when gone, my own pets are very loved and looked after.) ***I’m not accepting puppies at this time due to my varied availability/classes, or most Large/Giant breeds only because I’m healing a neck/shoulder injury; I'm not assuming about your pet that they pull on a lead, but I want to ensure I could safely carry/transport them in the event of an emergency.***
Information Marie T. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know about any special needs or health conditions, your pet’s routine and feeding schedule, any medications, vitamins/supplements, allergies, triggers/reactions (such as fear of thunder or dog-reactive), and preferences (do they like a quiet household or music, for example), and tell me about their personality. Is there anything in your home or yard they're likely to get into that needs prevention or extra supervision? Do they try to eat things they’re not supposed to? Do they have a favorite toy or comfort like a stuffed animal or favorite bed/blanket/spot in the home? What commands does your dog respond to (sit, drop it/leave it, etc)? If multiple pets, do they need to be fed separately? Is your dog crated/kenneled while away or sleeping, or do they roam around the home or stay in a particular room? Do you have any other pet(s) not listed on your profile, such as a fish or reptile or chickens? Especially for cats, do you have a pet carrier that is easily accessible in case they need transport to the vet?
A typical day
I love to play and make sure your pet has an enriching day! I am adaptable to calm, quiet pets who just like to relax, and also to high energy pets who prefer to play fetch or with cat toys, respectively, and go on walks. I look forward to learning how your pet likes to interact, and learning about their personality. I like to keep a pet's usual routine so they are comfortable while you're away, so let me know if they like to go on walks, or have supervised play in an enclosed yard, or play fetch, or if they’re ‘couch potatoes’ etc. As an athlete, I can do a high-energy and/or long walk, and I am equally happy to do a leisurely 'stop and smell the flowers'-paced stroll! (“Inside of a Dog” by Alexandra Horowitz gives some neat insight about how important scent/being allowed to sniff is to dogs.) I can also of course “walk” a pet for fresh air and sunshine if they’re in need of being in a stroller or other mobility aid.

Pet care experience
Hello! So nice to meet you. I'm looking forward to getting to know you and your pet(s)! My first name is Taylor, but please call me Marie (my middle and preferred name) :-) I am competent, thorough, communicative, responsible, punctual, respectful, honest, and have integrity. You can be assured that your pet(s) will be safe with me. I give periodic written updates with photos, I follow instructions carefully, I take attentive notes about your pet from your description and my own observations, I am focused and attentive when caring for your pet(s), and I respond promptly to messages. For pet sitting in your home, I am very tidy/respectful and will leave your home as clean as when I arrived, and I stay in only the designated area(s) and only touch what I need to (please show me where you keep cleaning supplies and your pets’ food or medications, etc.). I pick up after your pet and bring my own dog waste bags, leads, collapsible water bowl, and first aid kit, just in case. I pay attention to details, like the temperature (air/ground) being safe for walks. My preference is to suggest a “Meet-and-Greet” (whenever possible. I do typically accept short-notice requests where this may not be logistically possible) because it’s important to me that you AND your pet are comfortable with me (and I you). I am loyal and love to have repeat clients, but I also enjoy taking on one-time requests, I’m happy to help. I try to keep a pet’s routine as familiar as possible for their comfort and your peace of mind. A bit about my background: I'm currently enrolled (2026) in Penn Foster's Vet Tech Associate's Degree Program. I graduated with a 4.0 from Pima Medical Institute, Phoenix, in December 2020 from the Veterinary Assistant Program. I graduated magna cum laude ("with great praise") from ASU in 2015 with a BA in Creative Writing and a second BA in French linguistics/translation/literature. I also completed one semester of the Pre-Veterinary Medicine program at ASU. I am Fear Free Level 3 Certified (fearfree.com), and currently I'm renewing my certification for 2026. I am RECOVER Initiative (CPR) certified (just renewed for 2026). I've worked for various Small Animal vet clinics on and off since 2018. I have been working with animals in some capacity since 2010 (technically years earlier, since I used to volunteer at our local humane society in elementary and middle school as a kid), and I’ve had my own pets since I was ~5 years old. I worked previously for Rover from July 2017 to May 2021, and took a hiatus because I moved, but unfortunately I no longer have my original Rover profile (Was listed as "Taylor E.", first name and maiden name initial). I had a 5-star rating from 35 people who were pleased with my pet care and communication and left positive reviews (thank you so much!!!) and had several repeat clients -- Please see screenshots of my previous Rover account reviews in my photo gallery. I love working for Rover, so I’m glad to be back! I have the experience to be able to care for certain special needs, and I will communicate with you honestly (at all times) if I feel a request/booking is beyond my scope of experience because my priority is your pet's safety and wellbeing and I feel they should be matched with the best possible carer. I have worked with a variety of cats/dogs of different ages, abilities/needs/conditions, sizes, and breeds, as both a veterinary assistant and pet sitter. As an important DISCLAIMER: While I do have years of vet assistant experience and formal vet assistant education, I am not a Veterinarian and not a CVT (i.e., I am not licensed to practice veterinary medicine); I can only care for your pet in the capacity as a pet sitter / dog walker and cannot provide medical care or diagnose or prognose, etc. I will always refer you to your local Vet for that type of care and will not do anything outside of my scope of expertise for the safety of your pet (and to abide by the law). In the event of an emergency I can provide first aid/CPR and transport your pet to the vet. About our pets at home: My husband and I have two wonderful cats (1 adopted, 1 we rescued) and two wonderful dogs (adopted by us from the humane society after they were rescued from dire situations, respectively; one of which is a tripod and one is a disabled senior that wears diapers) -- I gravitate especially towards rescues and seniors that need a little extra care, and I especially love cats. Every pet is so special and deserves a safe and happy home! Thank you so much for your consideration. Looking forward to meeting you and your pets! -- Marie

Reviews
Marie T. Is outstanding with animals. I attended veterinary assistant school with her where I was able to witness the deep passion she has for animals and their welfare. She is a kind heart human, with intense love and compassion for not only her own fur babies but others as well. She has prior experience in the veterinary medicine field, working as an assistant, and is also currently in the process of obtaining her CVT. If I am ever in need of a pet sitter I would 100% trust my fur babies in the hands of Marie ❤️❤️

Marie was such a pleasure to work with! She came over for a meet and greet and took detailed notes on our kitty’s routine. I felt comfortable right away based on the thoroughness of her questions. We received detailed reports after each drop-in and the sweetest photos. It looks like they had a great time together! Would highly recommend
Taylor is a wonderful, kindhearted pet sitter who always goes above and beyond for my pets. My dog Dante gets very anxious when we're away, but Taylor knows exactly how to comfort and distract him, even hand-feeding him when he's feeling especially pouty. She also does an excellent job caring for my other dog, Ati, making sure her daily medications are given correctly and on schedule. Knowing my pets are in Taylor's care gives me complete peace of mind. She is truly my go-to person when it comes to looking after my fur babies, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and compassionate pet sitter :)
I always choose Marie as my sitter. I rarely leave my cats, I’m always home, but when I do go away on a trip I trust that they’ll be safe and they’re happy to see Marie. They love her and I know she spends quality time with them. When their nails get long she trims them for me, which they won’t let me do. She’s really patient with them. I recommend her to people with cats! She knows just where Macy likes his neck “scritches” and that he doesn’t like his belly touched. Becket and Macy both love attention and cuddles, and she sends me cute photos. They don’t play a lot or run around much at their age, but she makes sure they’re happy and loved. She also waters my garden!
