Pet care experience

Love dogs and walks

My priority with boarding dogs is to make them feel at home and involved. Currently I am looking for work and home most the time, and I am happy to take on additional pet care to earn a little money for takeout! I have a very sociable and playful young female Alaskan Malamute, Freya, who I adopted in 2025 when she had just turned one. With her, and help from professional trainers, I have gained a lot in understanding of dogs. I enjoy learning different dogs and cats personalities, and watching them take in and respond to their surroundings. Since being in Seattle, I have taken care of older dogs, puppies, and herding dogs with high energy. I have also house sat in homes with cats and enjoy their natures. I grew up with dogs being raised with a timid whippet and a Border Collie/Labrador who was her protector, and I learnt to take dog care very seriously from my Dad, who treated them very well with usually four walks a day, to parks or the country trails where I grew up in England. It was hard fact then that was how many walks they needed but I understand now he just liked to be with them. As a kid I loved it when the neighbour's cats would sit on our fence for a pet and kibble. We adopted a Bedlington Terrier puppy when I was 12 years old. I helped train him from a pup, and took him to the park twice a day for off leash walks as long as I was living at home. I loved dogs so much I spent my one week work experience aged 16 shampooing them at a grooming parlor. I lived with a housemate's Chihuahau in London for around 2 years, who I petted a lot and took for walks. Coming to Seattle, I had no idea dogs would become part of my life I'm happy they have.

Marie was accommodating to our late request and very patient and kind with our dog. We got daily updates and photos that showed the two dogs playing. We were happy knowing Guayaba was in good hands, getting exercise and play while we were gone!

Marie was a perfect host for my pup. I really appreciated the update pics and I'm sure Santos really appreciated the backyard! Santos had a wonderful time with Marie and Freya her pup. Would 100% recommend booking with them. I sure will be rebooking in the future!

If I could give more than 5 stars I would! Marie (and her dog Freya) were so good with Louis. I love that she wanted to do a meet and greet prior to the booking. Marie also went out of her way to take Louis to our vet when she noticed his eye was irritated. She got his meds and kept a very close eye on him to make sure he was comfortable and doing well. I’m very happy to continue with Marie as my go to sitter from now on.

Marie is great! Highly recommend. My dog has some difficulties (he's dog reactive and will chase squirrels and bunnies) and Marie handled his issues with no problem. He came home happy and healthy after a long stay. I'll definitely use her services again!

Marie is great! She is communicative, flexible, and easy to work with. Her dog Freya is very sweet, and my dog immediately enjoyed playing with her. I like knowing my dog will have a friend to play with. Oliver seemed happy and comfortable when I picked him up.

Schedule

I am usually working from home with occasional outside shifts at the weekend. I fit my routine around my dog, and other dogs. My partner is able to help out at when I need to be out.

Where your pet will stay

Home characteristics

Lives in a house
Has a fenced yard
Non-smoking household
Has 1 dog
No children present
Dogs not allowed on bed
Dogs allowed on furniture
Potty breaks every 2-4 hours

Safety, trust & environment

My dog Freya generally is kept in her crate when unsupervised as she can be destructive when left alone. I am cautious of the environment removing any chewable/swallowable items not intended for them. I would not like to leave them unattended for more than 5 hours and pay attention to their body language. On walks, I would check with other dog carers whether they are safe to meet or otherwise follow guidance. I would also check for signs of the dog's wellbeing and if they need rest, and bring water for them on hot days.
