Safety, trust & environment
I have a large yard, surrounded with a 5-foot fence! I limit the number of dogs I care for at any given time. My first objective is safety for everyone, my second objective is that all are happy. This means there may be dogs from two households at any given time. That said, I operate on a first-paid, first-served basis. In this way I can ensure each pet receives great individual attention, keeping your pet(s) happy and safe while you are away. I also have an Australian Kelpie who is Canine Good Citizen certified by the A.K.C. Napo has also passed the Public Access Test as a service dog. Napo generally attends a commercial dog day care once a week to maintain her excellent social skills and is great with other dogs, cats, and both young and older people. Together we will help your pups relax and feel at home! Large dog bookings are only accepted after a meet and greet for the safety of my dog and other dogs that stay here. I do not provide care for pets that have not been neutered or spayed.

Information Marie T. would like to know about your pet
Dogs & cats will need to have their first year rabies vaccinations. Pets must also be on a flea & tick preventative. Please be sure to upload your veterinarian's contact information, in case of an emergency. Please upload your pet's diet, feeding instructions, and if your pet requires any medications, the name of the medication, dosage, and frequency the medication is to be given. If your pet is chipped, feel free to include the chip number. Please let me know if your dog has any other special needs. Finally, please share any unique information about your pet that will help their stay go smoother :-)
A typical day
I love to engage animals through play time, training, and physical activity! We have lots of dog toys, including a selection of balls, chew toys, tugs, and more! For enrichment, many birds and squirrels frequent my large, fenced yard, as I provide sunflower seeds and we live along the Econlockhatchee River and Jay Blanchard Park. There are wooded trails behind our house. If you are comfortable with it, we will happily take your pup for walks in the park! I have a plastic puppy pool (see profile photos) for those dogs that enjoy splashing around. Pets are permitted on the furniture, as long as that is alright for them in their regular home. That said, I don't have a lot of furniture, so my living room is sort of like a mini-gymnasium, great for pet play times :-) Your pet's safety and happiness are my primary goals. Currently, I accept pets from one new household at a time. In this way, it is just your pet(s) and my dog. I make exceptions for repeat clients, ensuring pet temperaments are compatible. This means dogs from two households may be in my home at any given time. My dog, an Australian Kelpie named Napo, has passed the Canine Good Citizen test administered by the AKC (American Kennel Club). My dog has also passed the Public Access Test as a service dog. To ensure my dog remains well socialized, she attends dog day care outside my home one day per week. She is excellent with all dogs, cats, chickens, cows, etc. Find this short YouTube video of Napo playing with one of her best friends by searching "Adventure Dog Napo The Australian Kelpie: Napo & Penny Field Day". Also see "Adventure Dog Napo Hiking PCT 3." Napo will help your pet(s) feel at home and loved. If you have unique pets, I am happy to help here too. In addition to my professional exotic animal husbandry and training experience, I have had pet skunks, chickens, cows, cockatiels, doves, snakes, salamanders, and both fresh and salt water aquaria. I also have limited wildlife rehabilitation experience. So, if you need somewhere for your ferret, bearded dragon, or whatever, we are the home for you!

Pet care experience
*Hablo español* I have 13 years of full-time experience working primarily with dolphins, but also sea lions, seals, penguins, sharks, turtles, and other marine animals. I have 2 years of full time experience working with elephants. Now I direct my nurturing tendencies towards dogs and cats. I have served as a foster home for Sniffing Snouts Pit Bull rescue, and worked with dogs with special needs. I have cared for other people's pets my entire life, providing them with walks, baths, feeding, and medications. I have been pet sitting with Rover since 2023. *If you are a prior client and my calendar shows I am booked, please message me to verify if I have availability :-) I am currently not accepting bookings because I am in and out of Orlando all summer either backpacking or conducting field research. I will be back August 15, 2026 and can resume accepting bookings at that time. I work as a Professor of Biology for Valencia College and am teaching fall semester on campus 2 days per week. My fall schedule away from the house is: Tuesdays: 12:00-9:00pm Wednesdays: 3:00-10:15pm In general, I am home the rest of the time.
Reviews

Marie T. Took excellent care of our animals. Gave us multiple updates everyday. She have the best setup we've ever seen to control the animals. We strongly recommend her.

Marie is always so wonderful with my dog, Winnie. She’s a great communicator, super friendly, and very educated about animals. I never worry when I leave Winnie with Marie. Winnie always comes home happy, fed, and relaxed.

Always a relief knowing Zoe is in good hands when I am unable to watch. (Zoe is my large, high maintenance ridgeback.) Thanks again Marie!

I absolutely LOVE Marie and how she cares for Mochi as if he was her own. He is happy when he gets there and I can see how much fun he has with all the pictures she sends. Always updating me on his stay and I know he is 100% being taken care of with love and care. Thank you for making yourself available to watch him. My #1 preferred sitter on Rover.
