Pet care experience

Kind and gentle animal carer.

Profile I have cared for hundreds of animals over the past 16 years, volunteering and working in animal rescue and fostering (13 dogs to date). My background in rescue has given me extensive hands-on experience with a wide range of breeds, sizes, temperaments and complex needs. I’ve also been a volunteer dog walker for The Cinnamon Trust since 2015, supporting elderly and terminally ill owners by walking and caring for their dogs. Alongside this, I’ve looked after pets in their own homes across the country, providing consistent, attentive care while owners are away. I previously worked as a dog carer for a well-known rescue organisation, where I cared for puppies through to large, strong adult dogs. My role included training and courses in canine behaviour and handling, and I’m confident working with reactivity, separation anxiety and other behavioural challenges. I have experience caring for elderly dogs, dogs who experience seizures, blind and deaf dogs, and I am comfortable administering medication when required. I am passionate about animal welfare and have rescued and supported many species over the years, both domesticated and wild. While dogs and cats are my main focus, I’m very experienced with both and happy to care for a variety of animals. I also love horses and am currently taking riding lessons. ________________________________________ Availability & Travel I offer both short and long house sits in your home. I’m happy to travel anywhere in the country for longer bookings; however, shorter stays need to be fairly local. As I’m often booked several months in advance, bookings outside of Cambridgeshire require plenty of notice. ________________________________________ Pre-Sit Assessment All new bookings include a free pre-sit visit in your home so your pet can meet me in their usual environment, get used to my scent, and so we can go through their routine together. This also allows me to ensure I can provide the right level of care for your pet. For dogs who are strong, reactive, or need additional handling support, I may suggest a second visit to go out on a walk together — again at no extra cost. If you live a long distance away, a phone/video call will be arranged instead. New bookings are only confirmed once this assessment process has been completed and we’re both happy it’s a good fit. My priority is always your pet’s safety, happiness and routine — I treat every home and animal with the same care and respect I would expect for my own.

Luna had a wonderful time with Marie. She was incredibley accomodating of our needs and did a fantastic job of looking after Luna. We even had a delay on our return journey, in which Marie stayed late into the night to help us. Thankyou and we look forward to using you again!

First booking with Marie and extremely happy with the care she took of Billy. Great communication throughout and very thorough in her collecting information so that she can keep routine as close to normal as possible. Don’t think Billy noticed we weren’t there!

Marie cared for our litte dog and house. She gave us regular updates and clearly developed a close bond with our dog. Marie left our house in immaculate condition, and we would definitely recommend her.

Marie is very loving and caring, and we knew from the first moment that we left our furry baby in the best hands. She is highly adaptive, flexible, proactive, and thoughtful when it comes to caring for pets. Our Stella has never been more relaxed when we returned from our holiday, thanks to Marie's visits. We are sure that if she is available, we would love to have her services again! We are beyond grateful for everything she has done to keep our little Stella happy and cared for.

Marie was absolutely fantastic for our little sausage Gimli, she kept us up to date regularly with lovely little mini vlogs of what he got up to and he wasn’t short of a trip out or too (to his favourite places of course). Not once did I worry about him being left behind as I knew he was in fantastic hands. Thank you so much Marie, can’t wait to have you to stay with Gimli again. I’m sure he misses the endless cuddles and bed sharing already!

We were so happy to find Marie who took care of our cat and dog while we were on holiday. From the moment she arrived for a pre-sit visit, it was clear that she had a lot of experience, asking detailed questions about both pets to get a understanding of their personalities and needs. Our whippet, Rupert, suffers from separation anxiety, so it was a big ask for her to be here for 9 nights. Marie kept us updated with videos and pictures and Rupert had a great time out and about with her. Marie experienced some challenges with the boiler which resulted in us having to call an engineer out to problem-solve, but she was very gracious when there was no hot water for a couple of days. Rupert even got taken to a dog park, where he could run off lead, which was really thoughtful of her. When we got back, both pets had been very well looked after, and the house was very tidy and clean. Thanks, Marie, for looking after them so well.
