I am a stay at home parent with a very flexible schedule. I live on a farm with my husband and teenage son! Although part of my schedule is dedicated to training and hiking with my own dogs, I'd like to add to my schedule and help you with your pet needs! I am available for; Walks Check-ins, pee breaks/feed/water Pet sitting for dogs and/or cats Litter box cleaning

I prefer to have a routine for any pet in my care, whether at your home or mine. Knowing exactly what you pets normal schedule looks like, will help me provide the best care for your pet while you are not available. While boarding in my home, stairs will be blocked off for the safety of all pets. My preference is to have dogs crated for bedtime. Crating can be discussed in more detail. While boarding in my home, your pet has the option of socializing with our black lab, Benson. If they are better with just human companionship, that's fine too! Our German shepherds are not socialized with boarders nor are the cats. Our home is designed in such a way that it is easy have these boundaries and separate living spaces. Your pets needs will always be thoroughly discussed and adjusted so that everything is similar to their regular schedule. All pets are unique and have different needs so it's always under the pet parents direction on how your pet will be cared for. My goal is to provide a stress-free, safe and enjoyable experience for your pet. Communication is always open, please reach out and see if I can accommodate your pet. All dogs boarding in my home are required to have their core vaccines plus rabies as well as be on flea & tick prevention. For the health and safety of everyone, please be prepared to show proof.

All the information you can provide about your dog in advance will help me give them the best possible experience in my care. I like to provide treats and play but only if permitted. Is your dog accustomed to getting up on the couch? Our couch is pet friendly to those who are allowed! Allergies, likes, dislikes, and typical behaviours (good or bad) should be communicated so I am well aware how to provide a safe and positive experience while with your pet. Please tell me what time they have their meals and if there are special meal instructions such as meds with food, using a slow feeder, wetting the food or if I will be feeding raw. It is also helpful to know what time your pet likes to get up in the morning and their bathroom routine! The more you can tell me the better it will be for your pet! I will do my best to keep their schedule the same!
A typical day
Depending on what service you are booking with me, I am able to customize the day around your pets needs and preferences! I love to provide walks and/or have interactive play with your pets favourite toy! For those interested in daycare, I can provide pick up and drop off for your pet after a nice hike and playday at our 100 acre farm. If you have a dog that loves to swim, we have a pond for that - make sure you send a floating toy! Overnight guests can have short or long walks in our meadows, fields and forest trails on the farm. High energy dogs will go for multiple longer walks and all dogs can have off leash exercise in our fully enclosed indoor sand arena! Dogs will see our chickens and horses while passing by the horse pastures and might see turkeys or deer while walking the many trails. When winding down before bed, your pet can curl up on our big oversized couch and in the winter they might enjoy warming up infront of the fireplace! We offer late night and early morning bathroom breaks to make sure no one is "holding it" for too long. We also use our indoor riding arena for exercising and playing with dogs; especially in bad weather. The arena is a fully enclosed 60 x 150 sand arena that is great for off leash play in a safe and contained area. During the winter when snow is deep and ice makes it hard to safely run and play, the sand footing is fantastic!

I can't wait to welcome your dog to our 100 acre family farm! We offer daily hikes, play and snuggles to your canine companion while you are away. We also have fully inclosed 150x60 indoor sand arena for off leash fun!!! I have 30+ years of dog experience, mostly with large breeds; 7 of those years in a professional capacity. I can't remember a time in my life that didn't have a dog or cat in it! I was raised on a beef cattle farm, surrounded by all sorts of animals including horses, chickens, dogs & cats! I have plenty of experience with both puppies and senior dogs and am comfortable giving medications and providing specific, specialized care for dogs with special needs. Currently, I am an active member in dog sport and enjoy spending time with my dogs; training, playing, walking and just snuggling! Most recently, I have trained and competed with my German Shepherds! Myself, husband and teenage son run a large equestrian farming operation so I am home all the time! My flexible schedule makes it possible for me to offer full-time pet care at our farm! In the past 7 yrs. I have offered my services to local families with basic obedience training, drop-in care, boarding and occasionally pet sitting in clients homes. Our family has adopted adult dogs and raised puppies so I have extensive experience with dogs of all ages as well as behaviours. I have experience and am comfortable with dogs who have seperation anxiety, in fact I live with one! I also understand the need to exercise and stimulate the mind of dogs with high energy. Important note - I request that dogs crate at bedtime. If your dog has never been in a crate before, this is not the right fit.

If we could give 6 out of 5 stars to Marie, we would!! We left our two VERY busy girls, Mandy (5 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback/staffy mix) and Hazel (3.5 year old chocolate lab) with Marie for 14 nights while we went away, and one extra night when our flight got changed (thank you for your flexibility, Marie!). We were so hesitant to leave our babies, but Marie alleviated every worry from our initial meet and greet through the two weeks of boarding. All communications with Marie were thorough and timely. She provided a list of things she required to best care for our girls (equipment, commands, routines, etc). She sent daily updates and pictures, which usually consisted of several long walks, and play time in her indoor enclosed arena, which is perfect to wear out our actives girls! Marie spent every evening with them snuggled on the couch and/or playing with toys. You can tell Marie knows dogs, loves dogs, and is passionate about ensuring your pet is cared for to the highest degree. We felt our girls were a high priority and were very well taken care in Marie’s care. We are so happy to have found Marie and will be recommending her to all our friends and family!!
Marie was absolutely wonderful with Daisy over the weekend! She’s clearly very knowledgeable about dogs and kept me in the loop with evening updates, which I really appreciate. Daisy got lots of attention and exercise and was well cared for. I also really valued the training tips Marie shared and the time she took to explain things. Soo helpful. I felt completely at ease. Daisy was in such good hands. Highly recommend Marie to anyone looking for thoughtful, reliable pet care!
I would happily recommend Marie to all my dog-owning friends! Bogey had a great weekend at Marie’s and I had a lovely weekend away knowing Bogey was safe and well-cared for. Marie kept in contact right on schedule, and even adjusted her routine when Bogey had trouble sleeping in a new space. Marie’s property is perfect for puppy energy and Bogey seemingly had a great time playing fetch in the indoor arena. The indoor space is also great; air conditioned and separated from any doggy hazards. We will certainly seek out Marie next time we need a pet sitter!
We highly recommend Marie as a care provider! She recently looked after our three kitties, sending cute photos everyday and updates or highlights of her visits. The kitties look forward to her care and attention again next time :)
