Welcome!

(*Requires a copy of current vaccination records before booking. Vaccinations required: rabies, bordatella, adenovirus-2, distemper, parvovirus, and leptospirosis*) I grew up on a small farm and have many years of experience taking care of dogs and other animals. I live with my husband and six children on 7 acres and we currently have 3 dogs, 3 cats, chickens, ducks, and geese and we occasionally breed our golden retrievers. Our property is close to a highway exit but down a quiet road away from traffic. With regards to dogs, I am a huge fan of Cesar Millan, the dog whisperer, and try to always be the alpha of my dog pack to help my dogs feel calm, safe, and respectful. Your dog will be well loved and looked after while you are away and I will do my best to help them feel comfortable as soon as possible so they can relax and enjoy a new experience. My 3 golden retriever girls absolutely love our boarding dogs and do well with any size and age of dog. Your dog will spend their time and be safe in our dog room in our home and in our large fenced backyard. Your dog would be happy here if: *Your dog is up to date on vaccinations *Your dog likes to be around other dogs (we have the dogs stay in one to two groups depending on size and personality) *You want your dog to learn to do better with other dogs (I have some methods that I use to help dogs learn to socialize better. I've had good success with anxious dogs) *You have a small dog (under 15 pounds) that is hypoallergenic and very well house trained. These dogs are allowed in the rest of the house and can be kept separate from the bigger dogs if needed. I hope that helps. Please reach out with questions if you are unsure or I am always happy to have a meet and greet with you and your dog:) If this is your first time using Rover, please use this code to receive $20 off your first booking. https://www.rover.com/sit/mariaa59659

Marianne is amazing at what she does! She was so patient, caring, and attentive to my dog Rosie’s individual needs. While we were away on vacation, we had complete peace of mind knowing Rosie was being so well cared for. One of our favorite parts of each day was receiving Marianne’s nightly update with pictures. She was so consistent, and those messages quickly became something we looked forward to every evening. We are incredibly grateful for Marianne and would highly recommend!

Marianne is fantastic! She has watched our husky multiple times and she has always done a great job. We love seeing the daily pictures she sends of our dog because he always looks so happy and content.

Marianne was very sweet and patient with our anxious dog, Olive. Olive has separation anxiety and I was surprised how well she did at Marianne's house. She was accommodating for our schedule and she was understanding with Olive. I appreciate that she took extra time and care to make sure Olive was comfortable with the other dogs and was never left alone for long. We will definitely bring Olive back in the future.

Safety, trust & environment

We have a large fenced yard in the middle of our acreage and three very sweet, energetic, female golden retrievers and my family of 8 to help keep your dog company. Our dogs, along with your dog, will be kept in separate kennels in our dog room in the home at night, during feeding times, and when i am not home. The rest of the time, they can play or sleep in the dog room in our home or play outside. They will always be with another dog. I always kennel them in the house when I leave. Their safety is a top priority. If I feel that certain dogs have potential to not get along, I watch their behavior more carefully and separate them as needed during their stay.

Pets

A typical day

We have a large grassy yard for exercise and my golden retrievers love to play and run with other dogs. There is plenty of space to explore. Since I am typically home most of the day, the dogs are let in and out very frequently. In the warmer months, I keep the door open and the dogs can go in and out as they please. I have dog toys inside and outside for them to play with. I closely monitor each dogs length of time outside in cold or wet weather to prevent chill.

***I will need a copy or picture of your dogs current vaccination record before boarding. Because we breed and take care of puppies, all dogs must be vaccinated. The parvo virus can stay on the ground and on surfaces for up to 7 months. At our meet and greet or when you drop them off, I will go over a list of questions to help me thoroughly get to know your dog. Please let me know if your dog has any special needs or concerns so that I can be fully prepared to help them and to make sure our home would be a good fit for them.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
