Hi! My name is Mariah and I have a lifetime of experience taking care of pets: from small critters, to cats, to large-sized dogs. I’ve single-handedly trained dogs from puppyhood. I also have experience with canine separation anxiety, having worked through this with my own dog. I usually work from home and will be able to give your pet the attention they need. My partner, Zachary, is also an integral part of the pet-sitting team at our home. He's a huge animal lover and will exercise your dog to their heart's content! He's a big fan of positive reinforcement and training, and will ensure to keep up your training regimen if you're leaving a young or hyper dog with us. He also works from home, so between the two of us, your pet is guaranteed to have allll kinds of attention. We'll let you know beforehand which one of us you can expect if you're booking a walk or drop-in.

I couldn’t be happier I boarded my pup with Mariah for his first overnight stay. She and her partner clearly love dogs and have the knowledge and experience to care for all sorts of dogs. My Basil had a great time with them, and they were also very conscious of helping keep him to a routine — which was really helpful for a young puppy. I highly recommend them.

Paco loved so much spending the week at Mariah’s! He had a puppy friend there, enjoyed play date, walks, going to the park, and the company of Mariah. We received lots of pictures every day and we know for sure that Paco would love to spend time there again !

Schedule
We can easily adapt to your pet’s routine. We have a small dachshund named Frankie at home, so integrating your pet into a routine with at least two walks per day is guaranteed. We also treat pets like family; so if we're going somewhere that we can bring your dog, we'll take them with us! If not, they can hang out at home with Frankie. :)

Safety, trust & environment
We live in a 2 floor apartment with an outdoor deck and have immediate access to the front lawn for potty breaks. If your dog needs to be crated overnight, or when left alone, then we are more than happy to stick with that routine. Otherwise they're welcome to hang out on the couch with Frankie. For cats, we have a litter box available when required, and they're allowed full free range of the house. Frankie is used to cats and may see if they're interested in playing, but will listen to their cues and otherwise leave them alone. We're very accommodating depending on your pet’s needs.
Pets
A typical day
We take into consideration what your dog’s favourite activity will be. Perhaps playing fetch, interacting with toys, or using mind puzzles. Maybe they just want to nap all day? We love taking them out on walks through the local parks. For longer stays, I like to take them out on local hikes or to larger parks where they can get more exercise. With cats, I also like to figure out what their favourite game or toy is and interact with them accordingly. Otherwise there's always a warm lap or sunny corner for them to sleep.
