I’ve been surrounded by dogs for as long as I can remember, and I’ve had the privilege of caring for them throughout their lives, including their senior years. One of my most rewarding experiences was rescuing a 66-pound Pitbull/Great Dane mix who had been severely neglected and abused. He had been living with a homeless person who beat him, and he suffered from a fractured bone. After witnessing this, I made the decision to take him and give him the care he deserved. I arranged for his surgery and took charge of his rehabilitation. Since he was reactive, I also trained him to help him adjust and thrive in a loving environment. Eventually, he became part of my family. Over the years, I’ve also cared for various other pets, including cats and even fish. One memorable experience was looking after my best friend’s senior dog. I applied her eye drops daily, but I always had a piece of chicken breast ready as a reward for being such a cooperative patient. Most recently, I cared for a dog for an entire month, ensuring he had the attention, love, and care he needed. Caring for animals is more than just a responsibility to me, it’s something I do with my heart.
