I don’t currently do house sitting because of my responsibilities at my own house. I take care of clients like I do my own animals, treating them as family. I believe in lots of love, attention and exercise. Mostly clients will stay downstairs, so my cats can have the upstairs to themselves. I never leave my own dog and clients together unattended. I always will put my dog upstairs, clients downstairs when I leave the house. We also have a pet gate on our porch, to prevent escapes.

If you want me to host, your dog will have to be good with cats! Even though they will be separated, things can happen and I don't want my cats chased. I would like to know if they are allowed treats, have any allergies or medical conditions, things to watch out for, and who is their vet.
A typical day
Here's where we'll take our walks I drive to various areas near the house so I can walk my dog off-leash, so it would help if your dog likes cars. One area is near the gym on Disc drive Wedekind Park), Pah Rah Park, Disc Park and trails nearby. Your dog's sleeping arrangement: Where ever he/she wishes downstairs. I keep clients downstairs with a barrier, so the cats have a break since some of them are very shy of new dogs. Time I'll spend with your dog Since I work at home (4-5 days a week), I will spend most of the day with your dog. I do go out to grocery shop, etc., and my 2 sons (19 and 23) will be home on weekends and evenings when I am out, but I am never gone for long.

I love taking care of animals and have a lot of experience doing so, including vet school for a year and a job doing animal care, and I have a PhD in biology. I have 4 cats so if you want me to take your dog into my home, your dog will have to be good with cats. I work at home, so I can spend a lot of time with your pet and give he/she lots of potty breaks if that is what they need. They will be treated as I treat my own pets. We adopted a dog in March 2017. She is a Great Pyrenees mix and is OK with strange dogs at dog parks but can be cranky with new dogs in her home, which is her job as a Pyrenees. This stops after a day or so,and we have many clients who she adores and she becomes very protective of them. However she is not a fan of German shepherds or pit bulls, so I feel it is best not to accept those breeds. I am reliable and honest. I've gone through a background check with Rover, so I won't steal your stuff if you want me to take care of your dog in your own home. I will come out to your house free of charge before the arranged date to meet your animals (take care of cats too, fish, birds, whatever) and get instructions from you. I cannot stay overnight, due to my responsibilities at my own home, but I will come visit with your pet, feed, walk, cuddle and make sure your house is OK while you are gone. Fees are per visit for coming to your house, and I will take care of multiple pets for the same price. This may end up cheaper that someone who charges per pet.

You can tell Maria truly cares about the pets in her care and goes the extra mile to provide the best experience for each of them. She asked questions I wouldn’t have thought to tell her to ensure our dog was happy and safe, including a description of the other pets that would be present during his stay. She also welcomed a meetup beforehand to make sure our dog was compatible with her own pets, and showed me her house and yard, which gave me peace of mind. During his stay, she provided daily walks and enrichment, and sent awesome daily updates with photos. Our dog is normally very nervous being away from us, but actually seemed disappointed to leave Maria’s house when we picked him up!
Maria did a wonderful job taking care of my dog. She took her on regular walks and sent me photos throughout the day, which really reassured me that my dog was happy, safe, and enjoying her time with her. The updates showed my dog relaxed, playful, and clearly comfortable in Maria’s care. It gave me real peace of mind while I was away. I’m grateful for her reliability and kindness. I highly recommend Maria to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy dog sitter.
Maria updated us about how are dog was adjusting to the new environment every day. She also sent us pics of our dog on walks and enjoying pets and playing with the other pups. She really put us at ease during our first Rover experience. Thank you, Maria!
