I work remotely, so my schedule is very flexible—I just need WiFi and a desk. As of 2026, I'm following my lifelong dream and selling my house to live in a converted camper van and travel the US! Because of that, I'm best set up to watch pets in your home only; my space is limited.

Safety, trust & environment
Routine is important to keep pets happy! Whatever it is that you typically do in your home, I will strive to do as well so that they feel as content as possible. I will never yell at or coerce an animal (unless it's a rare emergency); I find kindness and trust go a long way. On walks, I take a safe approach. Regardless of how friendly or obedient your dog may be, I keep them leashed and a safe distance from other animals, people, and children, putting my body in between them and others as we calmly move past. That's being said, I like to let animals be animals! Unless you tell me otherwise, I let dogs be free while on leash—exploring off trail, sniffing what they want, and rolling in the dirt and grass—their walk is their time to find joy in the world and I'm not here to steal it!
Information Maria K. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if your pet has any special needs, medications, or allergies. Especially let me know if they are aggressive towards other animals or children. I am experienced with reactive dogs, I just need to know what to expect!
A typical day
We'll start each day with breakfast and an outdoor potty break for dogs. I typically take dogs for a decent walk (1 mile+) in the early evening (unless you request a different routine) and we come back for dinner. On weekends, we often take a longer excursion on a trail or drive to a park. Working from home during the day, I actively spend time in the same room with your pets playing games, cuddling, and getting outside as needed. I do not leave pets alone for long periods of time. At night, I am happy to let them sleep with me if that's allowed.

Pet care experience
I've had 4 dogs of my own that I've cared for from puppy age to end-of-life. I've watched many dogs and cats for friends, neighbors, and on the Trusted Housesitters app, as well as fostered dogs for a local rescue. I'm also experienced with reptiles and plants; I have a "green thumb." As a long time homeowner, I will care for your house (and animals!) as if they are my own.

Reviews

Maria took excellent care of our pets and home! She was communicative and we were able to enjoy our vacation more knowing our furbabies were in good hands. High recommend!
Maria is an intuitive dog companion. She's so wonderful and trustworthy. I look forward to her spending time with my dogs and appreciate her help!
