Hi there!! 2 disclaimer before you take time to read further: -I can only take dog friendly dogs as I often sit more than 1 dog at a time -I live in a 2nd floor walk up. If your dog can’t handle stairs (and is 75lbs~ or less), I can carry them up and down- if you’re comfortable with that option. I inherited my love of animals from my grandmother who used to raise, foster and show dogs (with all of her free time in between having 10 children😂). I’ve had both dogs and cats since I was little and love them to pieces. Additional things about me: -I worked at a vet office in college. -I am experienced and comfortable giving medication including injections -I have experience with puppies, seniors dogs, rescues and dogs with disabilities including: tripods, 1 eye, arthritis, hearing impaired, blind, injured, separation anxiety, diabetes & seizures.

Maria is clearly an experienced dog sitter with great reviews from many clients. She also is super close, posing a great option as a sitter, especially after a good meet and greet with Bitzie. Bitz just had a 2-day stay and it went quite disappointingly. Apparently there were some issues with leaving Bitzie home alone that led to damages from chewing, none which was communicated to me on the app through official Rover channels during the stay. I was told this at pick up, and offered to take conversations offline to help with reimbursing for damages to a lamp, fan, and a friend’s $500 bag. Otherwise, the issue would be moved to Rover and potentially threaten’s Bitzie’s profile on the app. Those were the options offered. There was no offer to split any of the cost or accountability for (1) putting a dog in that situation or (2) not communicating earlier so that I could arrange potential alternate options. My friends who’ve done Rover found this odd and said they’ve always used insurance since Rover doesn’t cover sitters. Anyway, I did move to personal texting to obtain details of the damages and costs and will help to partially cover some of the damage via tipping on Rover. I’ve officially informed Rover just to keep things above board and promote better safety for all on the platform. I’m sure Maria will continue being a great sitter for many, I just wanted to flag some concerns I noticed around miscommunication.
Maria is an enthusiastic and well-prepared sitter who really loves and understands dogs. Our Frenchie Lucy was very well cared for while we were away for a week. Maria did thoughtful extras like noticing her skin was irritated and applying a calming solution twice a day. She had multiple dogs boarding, which turned out to be a bonus for Lucy to have playtime buddies, and I could tell Lucy got individual attention and snuggles. Lucy wanted to stay and give her more kisses! I'd be confident in having Maria care for Lucy anytime.
Maria was phenomenal - she was communicative and Appa had a blast at her apartment. Highly recommend :)
Maria is awesome! She took incredible care of Luna. I got frequent updates and was really impressed with her knowledge of taking care of pets. We’re excited to have her dog-sit Luna for our next vacation. Highly recommend!
She managed to medicate our demon cat. She is hero.

Schedule
I work remotely so i’m home with any pups in boarding throughout the day. I take them out on 4 walks a day: morning, lunch, dinner and before bed.

Safety, trust & environment
Taking good care of pets is about be caring, consistent, discipline and respecting the pet’s needs and boundaries. Especially on walks, where there’s unknowns: other dogs, people, cars etc.
A typical day
We walk around the neighborhood and/or parks. Lots of play in the apartment- be it fetch, playing with the other dogs (if i have more than one). Dogs usually like to follow me around the apt doing things and serve as my assistant 😄
