Pet care experience
Daycare and boarding for small dogs
I've loved dogs (and really all furry animals) since I was a little girl. I read dog books and memorized the different breeds. I plastered my walls with dog posters. When my family went camping, my longing for a dog of my own always got even stronger, as I thought how wonderful it would be to walk a dog around the campground. I posted marker-drawn signs on our site post asking, "May I walk your dog?", and was delighted when other campers indeed allowed me to walk their dogs! Eventually I did get a dog, and another. My last dog was Peppi, a tiny schnorkie-poo that I raised from puppy-hood who lived to be 16.5 years old. Peppi died in early 2020. I also grew up with and have had and cared for cats. Recently, I've become a foster parent for a dog rescue, and as part of this process, completed online training on topics of dog behaviour, body language, and training. I still love dogs, and I love going on walks. So just as I did as a little kid on the campground, I'm asking, "May I walk (or board) your dog?" :)

We absolutely loved having Maria watch our Loki! She took such wonderful care of him and showered him with love while we were away, which gave us so much peace of mind. Maria is truly a kind soul with such a calm and gentle disposition, which helped Loki warm up to her so quickly. We couldn’t have asked for someone better to care for our pup and would happily recommend her to anyone looking for a loving and trustworthy pet sitter!

Maria is a wonderful choice to take care of your pup(s). She clearly loves animals and treated our boy Winston with patience and compassion. Would absolutely hire Maria again!
Maria is very caring, attentive, and loving, in all aspects of her life, and particularly with animals. She has much pet experience including raising and training a dog from a puppy. My own dog is obsessed with her and she she is an our go-to dog sitter when away. She is fantastic with her. I can’t recommend Maria enough!

Schedule
I'm a therapist who mostly works from home (I work outside my home one day or partial day per week), so I have time around sessions to enjoy walks or drop-ins with dog(s) in my area! I also offer doggy daycare and boarding in my home, for small, well-behaved dogs only (i.e., If your dog is the type that can relax quietly while I'm doing a client session here or there, we may be a good fit!).

Safety, trust & environment
I have a fenced yard your dog can enjoy (always supervised!). Supplies (crate, etc.) will need to be provided for doggy daycare and boarding stays. I currently have no pets of my own, so your dog will have all the attention and snuggles to themselves!
A typical day
For daycare or boarding dogs, I'm happy to offer multiple walks a day, playtime in the yard or indoors, and/or just allow them to relax in my home. Whatever they/you prefer!
